    Seems like the bigger the film, the more of these glitches surface as they rush to the box office.

    Nah, the bigger the film, the more nitpicky people get. If a movie sucks, then noone's going to point out that the dead guy's Michigan license plate is post-1998, when the movie was supposedly set in 1997.

    The caps lock key *is* useful, but it is more trouble than it is worth. Do you know what the #1 tech support answer for everything is?:

    "Ok sir, your password is not working? Ok then, have you tried turning off your caps lock? Yes sir, the caps lock key. That's a key on the left side of the middle of your keyboard. Try pressing it once and then typing in your password again. Working now? Very good sir, have a good day."

    Productivity in the US may increase by 10% if we got rid of the stupid thing. If you *need* to type in all caps, pick a menu-option in your word processor or other application.

    This though experiment also assumes that the hole doesn't just close back up within 50 milliseconds. Even if this probe were to continue burrowing downwards, after it hit several miles down, I imagine that the empty space above it would simply fill back in.

    This is especially true if the probe just "burns" through whatever is beneath it. Even though the probe is passing through the "burnt" earth, that doesn't mean the burnt earth doesn't just re-solidify after the probe passes through it.
