Install An Xbox/Linux Media System In Your Car
AltGrendel writes "Bored during those rush-hour traffic jams? An enterprising UK geek has installed an Xbox/Linux system in his car. With a mod chip, Freevo, a LogiTech Wingman, and a 40 gig hard drive, he has access to music, video, and games during drive time. Details and pictures are here."
How the hell did you mod the steering wheel to the passenger's side... details man details!!!
How the heck can he drive that thing?
... a way to use his car's steering wheel for racing games, and a way to make his windshield the TV/monitor screen. I hope when he does this, he will remember a cutoff switch, so he doesn't go barreling down the highway at 200 kph, as if he were being chased by the police, or something.

system CRASH! ;-)

It's amazing how he moved the wheel to the other seat so that when you are in the drivers seat, you have your hands free to play games. very nice.
Now you can both play F1-sims AND drive IRL at the same time!
GAAH! MY PRINTER IS ON FIRE!!! PUT IT OUT! PUT IT OUT!
You mean those minivan commercials with Bugs Bunny showing the benefits of the "new" model of minivan--with the built-in LCD DVD player (you know, for the kids) LIED to us?
SHOCK!
....what's the point? .....
entertainment systems in cars seem useless....
If you've ever been stuck in rush hour traffic moving at an average speed of 3.2 mph, then you can appreciate the usefulness of having a pr0n player handy right in your car.
I'll see your senator, and I'll raise you two judges.
It's not the cellphone that causes the crashes, it's the fucking idiots trying to dial/sms/talk/drive at the same time. Radios are 'directly responsible' for more crashes? Show me some proof.
The idiot who installed this system is a fool - either he spent a lot of time and money on something he can't use properly unless he pulls over, or he's endangering other people by using it while driving. If the latter, I hope he crashes into a wall and ends up playing game-and-watch with a head prodder.
I'm sure the xbox guy is smart enough to know you don't try to watch Vin Diesel while trying to navigate the highway.
so he doesn't go barreling down the highway at 200 kph, as if he were being chased by the police
As if he were being chased by the police?
The coolest voice ever.

And I'm sure your fellow drivers wouldn't appreciate you driving with one hand... =)
What he did was illegal and wreckless
;)
I guess you mean reckless because a wreck was actually involved in the story
When men used to be men
when you can play halo while driving your car, drinking that frappucino from starbucks, and eating that hamburger from McDonalds ...
now THATS multi Tasking!
He might even be smart enough to try to never watch Vin Diesel.
