BitTorrent Blamed for Matrix2 Downloads
MartyJG writes "The BBC are running a story on how Matrix Reloaded is available via P2P. This time BitTorrent is taking the heat for the distribution - even though there's no company behind it to drag over the coals. The story speculates about the source of the copy, suggesting it's from a film or digital source rather than a cinema-screen-leech." Despite this piracy, the flick has made over $365M already. Including my tickets. Twice.
BitTorrent sucks!!!!!!!!
This only proves what I've said all along.
Trinity DIES!!!
LOL! Free is better than Paying!
Kazzaa has 0wnage WB tools !
LOL!
And Trinity gives birth to Neo 6 in Zion 5.
No, really.

Once to film it and another to watch it, hmmm??-- @rjamestaylor on Ello
Yes, but some nig hustling VHS down in Lower East is not respectable.
Give some 15 year old Colorado upper middle class suburbanite the same station, through the internet, and suddenly its a problem.
Its like, why do you never hear about black children being kidnapped? Because it's not respectable people whose lives it affects.
Remember that for your civ class, Sparky.
Look stop with modding people up saying the same thing, HEY WHY GET A SHITTY QUALITY RIP WHEN YOU CAN PAY YOUR 8$ TO THE MAN AND LET HIM HAVE HIS WAY. DON'T BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MINDLESS TOOL OF THE ESTABLISHMENT. And you mods jump on yourselves to mod them up. Unless you have actually SEEN the quality of the matrix reloaded rip, which is incredible, you should shut your fucking traps about the quality. It's like all the new englanders bitching about how horrible black people are and 80% of new englanders haven't even SEEN a black person, let alone met one. If you don't have any fucking clue, don't offer your opinion. Mods if YOU don't have a fucking clue, pass up the mod points for a day.
PLEASE RTFA.
This was a DVD widescreen copy w/surround sound.
Fuzz that Shizz. What I want to download is BRUCE ALMIGHTY! And btw, Jennifer Aniston DIES!!
I doubt I'll bother with the third one, just wait for it to air on broadcast TV.
I mean it was like 3 40 minute action sequences strung together with a really lame plot. And the action sequences themselves got really boring fast.
Why the hell did neo spend 20 minutes fighting all the Agent Smiths, and then fly away, when he could have just flown away at any time? I'll tell you why: the wachovski brothers make shitty movies.
... to know it wasn't worth throwing money at. It may have been a wildly successful film, but I won't be contributing towards it.
Is Neo a program running in some sort of meta Matrix, along with Zion etc? Well, get this -- I don't care! The characters are shallow enough for me not to bat an eyelid if they all get wiped out, and the storyline's convoluted and, frankly, boring enough for me to not be drooling over the next movie.
Endless "woo-we-can-slow-the-camera-down!!!11!1111" special effects do not impress me enough to put up with an otherwise laughable movie.
I think maybe I'm just spoiled by books. Anyone fancy making a handful of movies based around Nightsdawn? Revelation Space? Slant? Fallen Dragon? Well, don't bother; I don't think anyone in a position to do such a thing has the skill to do it properly.
*sulks*
fuckin morons...how bout we just start posting links to all the IRC channels, and news groups, and warez sites, and private FTPs out there. The entire point of this article was that yes, BT can be used for illegal stuff (like this), but so can anything else.
Enough with the spelling nazi bullshit. Why not try to, I don't know, further the discussion instead of pointing out typo's and spelling errors (which I will admit I made more than a few in the original post).
/.
Yes I'll and ill are not the same thing, but please.
I guess if you don't have any original ideas then being a spelling nazi or fr0st p1st idiot is about the only thing you can do on
---- The real Slashdot is still here. You just have to browse at -1 to read the comments.
don't bother, it was a crappy disjoint movie without plot and without an ending. the effects, esp. cloning are overdone. waste of BW
"No publicity is bad publicity." ... and some folks still don't know it ...
"If the world ran this way, business wouldn't."
Yeah, I forgot... "business" is based on raping your customers through their wallets. Oh, wait... I actually meant that to be sarcastic.
"If I wasn't planning on seeing it in theatres, I might consider it, but I'd probably still wait for the DVD. How does this hurt them? "
The Matrix gained a lot of hype. The movie presumably opened in USA before it opened anywhere else. People in other markets could download the crappy quality movie and discover it's actually very boring, thus resulting in not wanting to see it.
Now the 'very boring' bit is my opinion, but it's very much an important aspect of this strange world the MPAA lives in. At VHS quality, the movie's not being shown at it's best. If people see the downloaded one and not like it, thus not going to the theater to see it, the MPAA calls that a loss. If the movie is really high quality and the downloading of it still satisfies their need to see it in the theater, then the MPAA calls that a loss. They're going to continue operating in this stupid mode until they improve the theater going experience.
Frankly, $3 for a candybar is going to do more to cause internet piracy than making the content availabe.
"Derp de derp."
Never heard of VHS-C?
"Derp de derp."
Wow, your pretty full of yourself. "It sucked, therefor I should get it for free." Uhm.. Ok.. if you say so. So just by me saying that all the music made on this planet sucks, does that justify me downloading all of it for free? And they should let me download it for free in hopes that I'll listen to future *suck* music because of it? Pfft.. wake up ichimunki, the drugs have you.
Can all fish swim?
Thats some of the most inane drivel and corrupted logic i have ever read on this site. So you're basically saying, ok yeah all the work you did securing the loan to make the movie, write scripts, design sets, etc., regardless of what it costs, be happy that you are getting something back right? That goes against the basis of the free economy. If an artist/inventor/average joe creates something, they have a right to be compensated to their work. Be it oxyclean, dd7, the pocketfisherman, or any other product/good/or server. Let me bounce this idea off you. You go to college for 4 years, get an IT degree, venture into the marketplace and start a Software Design company. Your build custom software for folks, one day you get a client , lets say a skateboard shop, and the software you write for them helps them better manage parts inventory, made specifically for skateboard shops, this customer that has just paid you for work decides that they are going to give the software to all the other skateboard shops in the region, because ot's so great and hey you'll get your money back, because they'll buy it after they have already been using it. So know you have a software solution that nobody needs becuase they already have it...for free. Are you willing to accept the loss and move on, because hey, you already got your money? you sold one copy of the software to a skateshop you built it for and now the other 30 skateshops in the area have the software so you have no market. To make matters more interesting, imagine you sold the skateboard software package for $1500 a pop, this piracy just cost you $45k! Sounds like a great idea...i'd want to stay in that business. the long and short of it is - having a pc and fast internet connection does not obligate you free intellectual property of any kind. Stop being leeches and contribute to the world instead of constantly taking, then ..maybe then, the world will be a better place. just my $.02.
