Linux Beer Hike in Slovakia

palfreman writes "The Linux Beer Hike is less than a month away. This year it is in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, following last years success in County Clare, Ireland, and the 2001 event in Bouillon, Belgium. This year the dates are Saturday, August 9 to Sunday, August 17. There is also registration site and a members mailinglist. I'm driving from England, a 2400 mile round trip!"

    Phew... when I first read that headline I thought someone had raised the price of beer in Slovania. Not that I'm ever going to go to Slovania, but with globalization and stuff I worry about these things.

      There is no such place as Slovania. There is Slovenia and Slovakia. There are also Pennsylvania and Transylvania; maybe you were thinking about those. But there is no Slovania. Sorry.
      Shlovenia, Shlovakia, Sholevnia,,, who cares? I'm drinking right now, and this beer ain't free.

    There have been attempts to restore some information from the attendees to previous events, unfortunately all attempts have failed. In the end the doctors said it is best to simply give up any restore procedures and hire some agency to make sure people drink less next time.

    I hope there lots of rest stops, Pilsener is fast acting compared to Irish Stout. Rather like using a dd to wipe a drive as compared to a linux mkfs.
    dd can be more satisfying and assure that all the crap is gone like one good pint of Irish Stout, but a Linux format is real quick and dirty, just like 6 or 7 Pilseners.
