Sun's new UltraSPARC workstation: the Blade 1500

Roman Hauptmann writes "Here's a review of Sun's newest single-CPU workstation based on the UltraSPARC IIIi processor. According to the review, the system barely performs on the level of a P4 1.8ghz machine yet it sells for several times the price. Despite that, the Blade series still brings value to those who do visualization and imaging."

I'll post a more descriptive post when I've read up on the specs

You could have just read the aticle and then posted something worth my time instead of this dribble.

not mass produced generic clones like Dell

The BBC micro a 1Mhz external bus socket back in '82.

There were units for an extra 6502 & a Z80 and later 32016 and ARM1 processors were launched for it.

Acorn was so proud of it's second processor technology that it actually registered a trademark for it - The Tube(R).

The BBC B with 6502 second Procesor unit evolved into the Master Turbo, the BBC with Z80 second processor evolved into the Master 512, but with an 80186 as the main processor.

    I would buy a dual G5 :)

I did, and I LOVE it!
It satisfies the hardcore comp sci in me, as well as the sparkling eye candy crack addiction I have.

If I had a sig, it would probably be here.

Not really. The only real difference between SATA and PATA with drives currently on the market is that one has a different cable; you get a little boost on cache reads, but for the most part, you see nothing. The drives are internally identical, they just have different controller boards.
