Atari Gets Combat Redux Results, Indy 500 Challenge
Thanks for AtariAge for its article the winners of its Combat Redux playfield design contest, since judges have now "chosen the 28 playfields that will be included in the Combat Redux binary and the cartridge", following a previously covered competition to create the best play areas for the unofficial Atari 2600 remake. Elsewhere, AtariAge has also launched an Indy 500 XE track design competition, utilizing an "easy-to-use Windows-based track editor" in order to "allow everyone a chance at creating tracks that might be included in a cartridge version of Indy 500 XE", an unofficial update of the classic Atari 2600 cart.
Now all they need is an on-cartridge track editor and they have the first truly replayable 2600 game. :)
I checked on this a few days ago, because I'd forgotten about it, and saw that my single entry had been chosen.
So, if I put on a resume that I have designed levels for Atari 2600 cartridge games (ha,) will they think I'm older than I am, or say "What's an Atari 2600"?
