Star Wars KOTOR Sequel Confirmed
Ant writes "A story over at Blue's News reveals that the June 2004 print issues of
Electronic Gaming Monthly and
Computer Gaming World (on
newsstands in late April) will confirm a sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and that the game is, as previously rumored, in development at Obsidian Entertainment, the developer formed by ex-Black Isle boss Fergus Urquhart."

You know, I've been stuck in BG1/BG2/PS:T/Arcanum for years. I just can't seem to get into newer RPGs. I have NWN, I have KotOR. I've managed to get through the first act of each and then my interest wanes. I think it's the lack of NPC party banter (although Carth won't shut up sometimes).
Anyway, I think this could be great. Feargus could take a game that is just on the edge of holding my interest, and turn it into something an ounce more interesting. I don't know what it is for certain, but I know that Feargus (and actually, most of the team at Obsidian) built a lot of the games I like. They may be able to give it some of the old-skool goodness that wins me over. I really hope so, because I think I might have finally exhausted all the quests in BG2.
My Greasemonkey scripts for Digg &
KotOR's best sequel is itself. Play it again. Dark and Light are fun enough, the dialog and story interesting enough, that it's worth every second of your second time through.
I love kotor to death. was a little nicked that pc version was more buggy than the xbox version but once the patches were out it ran like a dream. I hope this time around they dont make us wait too long for the pc version, or even better release it on the pc first.
Virgin can shut down Black Isle but they can't take it away from us.
KOTOR was as good as they clam, due to its insuffishent details, my Plane Scape Torment had more details on screen, and the fact its 2D doesn't mean it looks worse then 3D games
Hmm, well... I played it through, making the choices I would personally in that situation, and ended up as Dark Side as you could get.
Myself, I found it enjoyable having the two families kill each other off, persuading people to give me all their money then assasinating them for rare items, and ruling the Galaxy.
And the Wookies? Well, they just smelt bad and I got bored of running around on Kashyyk.
Hey, I'm Sith and can throw lightning 50 foot, destroy Droids by waving my hand and kill people just by looking at them. The Jedi council couldnt even tell then I lied to them. What can anything do to stop me? I think HK said it best... 'Pathetic Meatbags'.
Hmmm, come to think of it, that 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' thing... it might be on to something...
any word on this game being released for the PS2? I have the ps2 and gamecube and really don't feel like buying another system.
KotOR was amazing, but it really does need the sequel. I want to know what happens after you crush the republic, how do they recover from the sith? WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?! I just hope they don't fuck it up.
There's not a chance of me going anywhere near a KOTOR sequel, on general principles.
No. While I appreciate the way the SW franchise has been revitalised by this game and (on a personal level) have been given hope that SW games in the 21st Century can be anything but diabolical, I can think of better things to do with my money next time around.
