Intel Releases New Pentium M Processors
doormat writes "Its been known for a while, but now it's official, as Intel releases Dothan, the 90nm version of Banias, aka the Pentium M processor. It also debuts Intel's new numbering scheme. The fastest new part is a Pentium M 755 2GHz w/ a 100MHz FSB, and 2MB of L2 on die cache. Reviews are starting to tip up as the NDA expires. One is at Tom's."
Whats with the funky font?
Die spammer.

Oh cool, now i can finally make my shoes work out my math homework for me... Just what we need.. Hell yeah.
Another one came today from Microsoft Corporation. I installed it. I must have installed about 100 of them so far. Microsoft always sends these critical patches to my e-mail as soon as there is a problem with Windows. Some days I get 3 or 4 such patches. I always apply them. Why. Computers are fun but there is a lot of maintainance to apply patches. Those hackers are bad. I would like to ask the people here, why don't you do something to improve this situation? As a newbie I would like to say that it may be fatiguing some times installing all those patches. When it will be fixed?
[OT] That site REALLY fucks up in Safari.. Oh well.. To many ads anyway... A 100 Mhz FSB, isnt that pretty slow now a days? People on the mac have been ranting for years about Apple being stuck at 167 Mhz FSB... I would expect a 2 Ghz CISC processor being capable of filling that up before you can say Microsoft Schmicrosoft!
What the fschk?!
It wasn't a very pleasent surprise to get into
I know money can buy everything, but I thought slashdot have some principles. Don't they?
I wonder if in case SCO would open an "Linux is illegal, pay us!" ad campign, we'll see it on slashdot as well
Oh well.

Ya got a wee brekkie that'll fit on a chip die, laddie...
The AMD 64's, or this new Pentium M? Or heck, for that matter, what do you guys think is better right now for building a system from scratch, the AMD 2GHz (Albeit more performance per MHZ rating) or the Pentium 4 3+ghz CPU's. How much of a difference is there for high end gaming, and did all the extra MHZ really mean anything on the P4s?
