Tubby: When Custom Cases Meet Frosty Cold Beer
trs9000 writes "Going a step further than your average case mod, Tubby includes not only a nice wooden casing, but also a built-in refrigerator! You dont have to get up for a refill! Tubby's homepage has specs and pics of the process. Images are also here and here."
All that's left now is a pizza sized oven, and I'll be set :)

Computerized Beeeeerr....
Honey, I shrunk the Cygwin
how lazy are we that we can't even walk two inches to the fridge for a beer between games? nowadays most games take forever to change levels (for an fps) so thats plenty of time to get your snacks :)
At least he used frames, so while his site slowly bogs down to tortise speeds, and eventually dies a horrible death, I can still look at the navigation.
"Tubby" sounds like what will happen to the user of this as a result of grabbing food all the time without even getting up off his ass and walking 10 feet to the refrigerator.
Hear recorded Slashdot headlines on your phone! New service beta testing. Just call (248) 434-5508
I'll be impressed, when they get a keg in there. Or better yet, just have cold beer on tap, with your computer calculating when to shut off, after 16 oz and stuff
Now all we need is automated food delivery, and a catheter/padded toilet and we can read slashdot for years without getting up.
Food not Bombs is a nice platitude but it breaks down when you notice that the Bombees are usually well fed
If the site is running on that machine, that beer will be boiling by now... Too bad it's gone down already.
That mod is so 70's. They should have used burlwood for the exterior to complete the image!
Ok, I'd understand how it was cool if the peltier cooler from the fridge was part of the cooling system for the computer. But what's the big deal about putting a fridge in a box with a computer? It doesn't add functionality, it doesn't share anything sigificant in the way of function, and it's just plywood, taboot.
If the case used the same cooling for both the hardware and the beer, now that would be something interesting. As it is, it's just a 7th grade wood shop project.
find a way to channel all of the processor heat into my cup of coffee? (That would make a good use for all of these overclocking schemes.)
I use This container for beer so I don't have to go back to the fridge.
I also wear Depends undergarments. I never have to leave my computer!
In the future, I would want to not be isolated from my friends in the Space Station.
Not only would you never have to "get up", but you'd actually be cooling your own computer by your sloth.
Have you noticed how every case mod story gets put on a flimsy hosting setup and gets slashdotted in 2 minutes?
USE FREECACHE!
Then we might actually be able to look at itfoo mane padme hum
I wonder how many people go for an intoxicant whilst programming. If you do, does it help your creativity and productivity?
Here in these quiet Appalachian Hills, my computer doubles as a moonshine still.

Let's see, what should we call the project...
How about...
a house.
You think the beer computer case is good, you should see his PDA bong.

I`ll raise you a fridge in an SGI: http://home.planet.nl/~mourits/koelkast/
Actually that guy deserves his own frontpage story, but I already tried submitting it, no reaction...
I will work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down
You'd drink a lovely stout COLD? Fat stupid hobbit! You ruins it!
When this story first liste, my slashdot fortune showed the following:
I will not drink!
But if I do...
I will not get drunk!
But if I do...
I will not in public!
But if I do...
I will not fall down!
But if I do...
I will fall face down so that they cannot see my company badge.
I didn't even know that they would allow these at work!
