And thats paid over the course of almost 55 months.
NYCL was one of the defendant's main lawyers (see settlement), so he must know more than what's coming out.
Six grand over 4.5 years hardly seems like a "victory".
But... if they weren't playing WoW what would they do?
Its all about having a limited amount of free time and knowing how to spend it. If people's marriages are ending because of WoW, then there are much bigger issues involved.
I tell my fiancee, "would you rather me go out and drink with the guys at a bar?"
If you have herbalism, the quickest and easiest way to earn money is by killing the elite trees in Skettis and farming them. They drop about 2-6 of one or 2 BC herbs, along with 1-5 motes of life. You can kill all 3 in about 6-10 mins. That equals between 12-60 herbs, and maybe 3 primal lifes an hour.
I was averaging about 100 gold every hour farming this way. I do not know any quicker way to earn 100 gold. Netherwing dailies come close, but 100g an hour is tough to do.
The thing is, you need to buyout something that's hard to aquire. I've cornered certain markets for a weekend, and made really easy money doing so.
Auctioneer is fantastic mod, that I wished more people would use. Take an item like primal fire... and put about 20 up at 9999gold. The average price jumps up a bunch. Buy all of the low cost items before you do this though... Put up these 9999 gold ones... get that "market average" to go up a bunch... then resell what you purchased at a significant markup.
Its a fantastic way to make money, without grinding at all
Hey... I've subscribed to the magazine since the early 90's (when it was PC Entertainment). I trust them. They rated it an 89, but not a Kick Ass product.
Its just a good sign that Verizon is starting to get it.
They're starting to understand that keeping things closed and proprietary might not be the best business model. They understand that they have the infrastructure up that a company like Google needs to make their cell phone work.
And even their FiOS TV is slowly starting to come around. Its going to be rough for a bit, and right now their FioS customer service absolutely stinks (I recently made the switch)... but they're trying.
The guild I help lead currently has several parent/child members. I think its great. I just have to remind our 16-22 age crowd that there is a 12 year old in the guild and please be mindful of that fact.
I can't wait till the day I can play games online with my kids. I'll finally have a 2v2 partner for Arenas who I can ground if they suck:)
I had the same problem with PC Gamer, but the complete opposite result. I missed about 3 issues because my Post Office deemed it "undeliverable". Ironically, this was after I received a couple of issues. I told them of this fact, and next thing you know, I'm getting PC Gamer. I called them, explained what happeend, andthey extended my subscription 3 months.
I have received PC Gamer (PC Entertainment WAY back in the day), since the early 90's. I love their style.
I agree with your sentiment. I once had to lay off 20% of our production plant because marketing/sales couldn't meet the goals they laid out justifying the capex. Most depressing day of my life hands down.
Since then, I've made it my personal crusade to call bullshit on Sales and Marketing. I got an accounting degree, but most of the people not smart enough to get a real business degree got a marketing degree.
While a necessary part of the business, I absolutely hate them.
Who actually can spend the time watching a baseball game that is over 2 season old? Thats freaking dedication right there. Its one thing to watch a baseball game when you don't know whats going to happen next, but to watch one where you know the outcome... 2 years after the fact just blows my mind
I am more knowledgable than most when it comes to computers. I've built my own rigs, and am much more hardware oriented than software. The main reason why I use my computer is for games, then some business related applications. Throw in a little video editing for good measure.
Right now, I have 2 comps... a desktop running XP, and a brand new laptop running Vista. Is there a Linux distro I can pick up, and then be able to play games with little to no problems? How about new games?
I tried to get a Gentoo distro up and running on an old box, and after numerous attempts, I failed. I managed to get Mandrake up and running, but I couldn't really figure out what to do with it. I felt cool for having a box with Linux on it, but besides that I couldn't really get any thing to run.
In the end, I'll keep running some form of Windows until there is a Linux distro which allows me to do everything I do now, with little or no problems. Until then, "The Year of Linux", will continue to be a pipe dream. Its not user friendly enough for someone who knows a thing or two about computers... how is the average user going to figure it out?
The reason why the US is so far behind is because the majority of the populace doesn't realize there are better cheaper alternatives.
The major cell phone carriers want to keep the artificially high service prices, because well, people are paying for it now, why change it? They also did put out a ton of capital to build the networks.
Plus, I really believe the leaders of these companies realize that change is coming in the next 5-10 years. Major change. Change that could completely destroy their business plan. So why not (much like oil), try and pinch as much as they can out of it?
As for cell phone manufacturers, they rely primarily on the service providers to move their product. So, they're in a tough situation. Do they try and push a phone that could hurt their number 1 sales person?
In the end, we will get cheaper phones with more features. But not until we get pinched for every penny we can be pinched for.
But...lets look at how mod chips are used. While I'm sure there is a very very very small market for playing Japanese games on a NA console), I believe that the vast majority of mod-chips are used for illegal purposes.
Why is it so bad that the US is going to require fingerprints to gain access to our country? I'm a firm believer that in order to "defeat" terrorism, we need to prevent any attacks on US soil first and foremost. If that means limiting access to the US, then so be it.
My mistake.. SHE'S PAYING THE RIAA the money, over the course of 55 months. How is this a victory?

So... the end effect is that a couple hundred thousand out of a BILLION are hurt... .05% - Is that even six sigma?

RTFA?
In order to win the X-Prize, they must take into account the upstream (ie powerplant) green house gas production that it takes to power the car.
Aptera right now is 350 MPG, and estimated cost of $24-27k.
Thats pretty bad ass IMO

That the majority of online game review sites ARE biased by their advertisers. Its why I still trust the reviews from PC Gamer over any other venue.

Well.. to be technical.... For atmospheric flight, the S-foils are supposed to be in the locked position.
The big difference is that the Linux commmunity will find these holes and patch them much quicker than Windows. Well.. at least in theory.
Yeah its easy to setup up... but then what... An operating system where I can't use the applications I would like to.

Uh... would you take targeted advertising if it meant a FREE cell phone (ie GooglePhone)? The answer is yes.

Correct... and I'm sure the mod chips seized had Cromwell's bios on it.
