Counter-Strike For Source Engine Shown In South Korea

Thanks to CS-Nation for its discussion of the first public showing of Valve's team-based FPS Counter-Strike: Source, including new screenshots and videos, as "the first playable exhibition of it [was held] this weekend in Seoul, Korea." An earlier CS-Nation news story has comments from an attendee, who suggests: "It isn't really different from the way you would feel while you're playing current CS. New physics and graphics are obviously improved, but it wasn't really enough to make me shock in awe." However, he does argue: "The graphics, of course, [are] absolutely excellent. I think the new de_dust2 is the map that can show the real power of [Half-Life 2 engine] Source."

Also mentioned was that CS:S should be free for anyone who purchases HL2. This is a change from previous rumours that it would be a seperate (ie. you pay for it) game.

The day VALVe announced what the multiplayer component would be Counter-strike (and the videocam-footage appeared on the Net) : They kinda implied that it would come with HL2 for free (otherwise there would be no MP compartment).

I think you might be confused with the different packages they are , afaik, still going to sell over Steam : As in, packages with only the SP part ; and to either buy packages, or rent them for a certain period.

I wonder if it's going to be the same for HL2...

my question is, will there be interactive environments? can i shoot out the lights to provide a cover of darkness, adding even more of a stealth element? i sure hope so, if not with official maps im sure source is powerful enough that usermade ones will come with something of that kind...
