PlayStation 3 To Debut at E3 2005

Yorrike writes "According to the BBC, Sony are planning to officially reveal the PlayStation 3 at the E3 Expo in May 2005. They're obviously not wanting to be outdone by Nintendo, who announced the same plans for the GameCube successor, as well as Xbox 2's rumored debut around that time. Looks like E3 2005 is going to be a biggy." Worth noting that's not the ship date, but when people will see it.

Now there's a shock! This isn't news. Anyone who even remotely follows video games should be expecting all three companies to have showings of the new consoles at E3 next year.

How come "news for nerds" comes from the BBC?

By the time the BBC picks it up, it should be OLD news for nerds.

I've heard of more failures with Xbox than with PS2. I personally have a PS2 since June 2001 and it has worked fine even though it has been used as both a game system and our primary DVD player the entire time. Some of my friends have had different Xbox problems including failure of controler port, DVDs failing to eject, and games crashing when there doesn't seem to be any scratches on the disk.
You can make up your own mind, but I already have Xbox sucks!

Halo sucks. Really. WTF is so great about it compared to ANY other 3d shooter game that has vechicles? Nothing. Halo is a piece of shit and people should just buy a computer and play some real FPS games with a MOUSE.

If you're a DDR and FF fan, get a PS2. The DDR game (note the lack of plural) for XBOX is unbelievably awful. Not only that, it requires you to pay $25 beyond the initial price to get the complete song list.

Nostalgia is very powerful for some people, especially for some particularly hardcore players like your average videogame reviewer.

I personally am sick of Nintendo's complete lack of character or setting design creativity, and I am increasingly not alone in this.
