Longhorn to be Released in 2006, Sans WinFS

He confirms what many had suspected - Microsoft will attempt to complete this release in calendar year 2006. The most notable element of this announcement was Gates' admission that WinFS, Microsoft's next-generation file system, would not be complete in time for this release - surprising, since this was the most hyped component of the next iteration of Windows."

Yes, people who post as AC all the time are lazy and annoying. I wish they wouldn't do it. However, I'm glad the AC option exists despite the trolling and other abuse that happens under it. As in real life, it causes a lot of low-level annoyance plus the occasional life-saver.
Got time? Spend some of it coding or testing
You should read some of the drivel that comes off of twitter's fat fingers before you comment. He spins every conversation around to somehow blame things on Microsoft. For news stories, he invariably complains about how "M$NBC" is a shoddy channel. And he thinks that all of us ACs are employed by Bill Gates himself in a holy quest to discredit twitter's writings. Basically twitter believes that with enough whimpering on slashdot, he can destroy the evil empire himself. I advise you to read some of his past efforts, it's tremendous fun, and a unique window into the mind of a very disturbed man.
