Build Your Own Blade Server
fw3 writes "Information week is reporting
that IBM and Intel are opening up the standards for the eServer BladeCenter. 'The companies will make available the design specifications for IBM's eServer BladeCenter product... hardware vendors can build "BladeCenter compatible" networking switches, blade adapter cards, and appliance and communications blades for enterprise networks.' Not really a new strategy for IBM, ISA of course was open from the start, IBM's technical references for the original PCs contained nearly all of the engineering data needed to build a PC. Looking further back I've been told by a reputable source that RCA was able to fully duplicate the System 360 System/360, mainframe working just a month behind IBM's own schedule by using IBM's published tech reports. (Of course IBM *didn't* share the details of OS/360, leaving RCA with a box but no OS.) See also stories from EETimes, CNN."

I decided not to link them because they would have disappeared too fast.
YES! After getting a shitload of gmail invites on fark, I have 12 google gave me when I logged into two of the accounts. I will give 3 away to my Slashdot lovin' bitches :)
The three funny/wierd/interesting replies to this, or links to crazy/interesting/wierd pictures, that I like, will get the gmail account (so list your e-mail too). I will give them away at 3:00pm EST.
Yes, this is real, I got so many I can give three away. gMail is awesome, enjoy fellow 'dotters.
Take a look around. Everyone has gmail invites to give away. I've got 10 myself and I've been trying to get rid of them for over a week. Gmailswap has seen all the swaps dry up. They're worthless on eBay as well. I think that Gmail is ready to go public. They're absolutely flooding users with invites.

* 4 more GMail invites still available for signing up...*
in other words it works but you only managed to sign up 1 so far(and you recently picked up a healthy comment writing streak, with most comments being pretty fresh even if your id number is quite low)
the thing works if net isn't saturated with these shit links. which it is. people keep telling how easy it is to get few friends to sign up for some crap and get a free ipod.
oh and before you sign up see some pages about which services are easily discontinuable in reality. it's marketing that's supposed to hit the easy and the greedy(which it does i'm sure).
and please, don't link "it really works" IF YOU HAVENT FUCKING GOT YOUR POD YET EVEN BITCH.
Stop flooding me with invites, 6 a day in each of my 20 accounts is rather obsessive, please die.
Actually... only 3 left (gmail was down for a short while, second invite just been sent).
And if you would have bothered to actually read - you would see that I have already seen a friend get an iPod from that - why do you think I am here so late in the game.
No need for profanities, and your logic seems a little flawd - If I would have gotten one already, why would I need to put this as my sig. bitch. (you know what - you are right - this is fun calling you bitch...)
Take it easy man.
get a free ipod! This really works... 3 more GMail invites left...
