For someone starting out in the world of film, what is the best way to get/handle/process rights to music for a film?
For example, I do all of my creative thinking as montages to a particular song that inspires me, and extrapolate from there, so many of my scenes are cut to match the music of a specific song.
The reason I use it is BECAUSE it's 10 years old. Lean and mean and it works and works well. I look at screenshots of Office 12 and I can't wait! I DROOL! Because I am going to make even more money training my clients how to use that junk.
As an American, I don't want lower taxes, better public transportation, or *gasp* national health care. No, I want to connect to sharks with VNC. What a fucking country.
Reason #11, and I'm not kidding, is because it's such a bloated piece of crap that PC World will sell a TON of magazines. Vista will be new, different, confusing, poorly working, and LOTS of articles will need to be written to re-educate the masses on how to use Windows Vista and how to "tweak" it. If I was selling Windows magazines, I would be praying for Vista.
10 reasons to buy Windows Vista? I am WAY ahead of you, already bought it, and the features are great. When exactly? Oh... got the new iMac a month ago.
I know that my 386 SX 16 went from 1 meg of ram to 2 because of a version of Ultima. Worth the $50 cost of 1 meg of ram I saved up for back then! And the excuse to save up for and move to a 486 DX 75? Wing Commander III of course. Those two games give me so many good memories. Ahhhh... Avatar adventures and fighting the Kilrathi. Good days... good days...
I never see the "beachball" mouse curser (the Windows equiv. is the hourglass mouse cursor, indicates OS is busy). I can have iDVD, iMovie, Call of Duty, iTunes playing, 10 Tabs open in Safari, FTP serving files to active connection, and no beach ball in Windows, game still plays nice, and iTunes "skipped" once in three hours of all this crap running while playing Call of duty.
And to the anti-fanboy like-dells-balls people out there, the above is simply a subjective review of my experience. Simple real world usage. And remember, it takes almost NO desk space and I plugged in electric, mouse and keyboard usb, and was using this thing, including registration, in 4 minutes. Have fun loading spybot/adaware/ms antispyware/clam av/avg/zonealarm just before you can even use your box. ha. the only windows I have in my life is now Virtual PC, and as I find good mac replacesments, eventually that app will go the way of the DoDo bird.
I just got a 20 inch Dual Core iMac yesterday. Screen is a monster. The mac, for everything except games (cal of duty, battlefield, etc) is DEAD QUIET. I can't hear ANYTHING. I love it.
\ Dual Core 2 ghz iMac is do damn fast it's not funny. Editing home movies while 10 apps run in background is nothing short of a delight. I'll exit fanboy mode now, but if you are thinking of Dual Core, go for it.

Every since China went on their own web, the real one runs faster. I just opened Firefox and it feels snappier.
But have you ever seen Ruby on Rails... on weeeeeeed?

This IS my first computer, you insensitive clod!
IMO, being in a constant state of refinement (Linux) is better than being in a constant state of bloating (Windows).
Time Cube proves you are wrong! You are educated stupid!
And in the box will be a $10 coupon off the pre-order price of Duke Nukem Forever.
I hope they make a Mac version for my new 20 inch Dual Core, so I can protect it from all those vir... uh... nevermind.
Yes, and all updates will be made available, for free, at HardOCP.com
He's happy, though, as he likes to keep busy working as a Slashdot editor.
If it's a dupe, it would be "Letters Two Slashdot"
Those crazy "Monitors", USB Mice, USB Keyboards, Intel Chips, NVidia graphics cards... never even heard of such things before!
Service Pack to fix windows is already out. It's actually up to version 4. It's called OS X 10.4.4
I would have had a TON of security questions and concerns for you, but I moved to OS X so don't bother.
