New PSP Titles to be Unveiled This Week
Asriel86 writes "Sony
will be officially unveiling twenty titles for their upcoming handheld, according to Gaming Horizon. These games will be revealed for the Playstation Portable (PSP) this week at the Tokyo Game Show, and will include an Ape Escape and Metal Gear Solid title."
Do we think it's time to update the gamebody image already? that thing looks ancient
Then again, the fact that the DS is $200 USD (i'm in Canada) pretty much guarantees that I'm not getting a DS either ;)
Bottom line: DS has Metroid Hunters and a Mario game. Sony has to pull out a couple A-list games for release date or else they're going to falter on the starting line - this might not be the end for Sony, but seeing as how they're already behind in terms of games, it ain't gonna help.
Condemnant quod non intellegunt.
I wonder if this time they will actually give battery life estimates for actual gaming conditions (eg not in power saving mode). Every time they've been pressed, they have refused to clarify it. Of course, based on this comment ("It's pretty close to the retail version."), the system's design might not even be finalized yet, and they might still be re-designing it to try get a decent number of gaming hours off one charge.
Back to the games listed... it just seems to be mostly what many people thought would happen: ports, re-designs or sequels to games already on PS/PS2. It still looks like a neat piece of hardware. But I have concerns over its battery life and durability.

They have been online for a few days now.
I would argue that, regardless of whichever side of the Sony/Nintendo battlefield you find yourself, that you must consider that the performance of the hand held is second only to the quality of games the hand held supports. Personally, I find both systems to be inadequate in terms of performance because of the inherent problems with portable technology; that is to say, short battery life, relatively poor sound quality, and Liquid-Crystal Displays. I am sure that most of the games will be garbage, as most games have been garbage for the past decade. I hope there are a few gems in the lineup, and if there are, I intend to buy them, rip them, and emulate the hardware on my PC so I can enjoy a much more entertaining gaming experience.

More importantly, why is there a slashdot story about how games will be announced later on this week. Nothing has been announced, there's no new news yet... I don't see how this warrants a post.
