Just another Coward writes "DSL Reports grabbed a copy of the lawsuit threat letters sent by the MPAA to the bittorrent website owners. This latest document was sent to a Torrent site called 'demonoid.com', which is now offline."

I'm surprised the MPAA continues to go after free torrent sites while completely neglecting the few sites which actually exist to make money.

Perhaps they should take a look at WhereDaMoviezAt, which exists as an add-on service to the popular (and $10-mandatory-for-entrance) Something Awful Forums.

WDMA is also illegally hosted by an MCI employee at one of their data centers. My only guess as to why the enforcement agencies don't go after such outfits is that they're getting a piece of the action.

Isn't there an option to post as HTML? Isn't there also a reminder to check links or even preview before you submit your posts? Don't you HAVE to preview as AC before submitting a post? Sheesh...Merry Christmas to you too.

I think they go for the free sites because that's where presumable the most downloads come from.

Maybe because you used some non-standard syntax. Here's how you do it:

You faggots need to switch to MySQL and PHP and a good bulletin board package like VBulletin.

Yeah, because HTML is just far too obscure and difficult.

And people rationalize the bible. Doesn't mean they're correct either.

Let's put things in "worth" shall we? On the entire planet I'd safely bet there are at least a 1000 or so people who could have played "neo". Prolly 10x that. As much as he wants to think so he's not that special. I mean, whoa.

So we got our star. But wait? We need a CG studio, makeup, costumes, editor, caterer, sound mixer, director, producer, security guards, legal teams, script writers/editors, casting supervisors, etc, etc, etc.

I can only imagine how lame the Matrix would have been without CG.

Matrix is a bad example though. They actually did work hard for that one [not millions of dollars hard] with all the training and what not. But most movies are "show up, hire stunt double, do your scene and go home".

They bitch about "oh 16 hour days". oh guess what. WELCOME TO FUCKING REALITY. Aside from $5/hr walmart greeters the rest of the world has [and had] long days at work.

They're only get paid that much because they're greedy. It's also "the way" sadly. I mean libtomcrypt does most of what BSAFE-C does [and some other things BSAFE doesn't] yet BSAFE-C sells and makes millions and libtomcrypt is free. ...

The assertions made in the parent post are an excellent example of why effective January 1, 2005, SA will no longer support, promote or condone any file sharing protocols, servers, devices, etc in any way shape or form.

Recently there has been a MASS influx of members who joined SOLELY for the "file" forums. The members fee for SA is for the quality of the forums, not the availability of the files. As a member myself, I wasn't even clued into the file forums until a solid year into my membership there, and I felt my $10 was well spent up till then. With the popularity of the file forums has come a plague of 14 year old 1337 H@>0®5 in search of free porn and software. Noting this trend, the community collectively decided to terminate the file forums entirely.

I assure you, the SA community despises the recent rash of idiots more than you possibly could.

SA was best as it's original off color "humor" site platform. Hopefully this action will be a push back in that direction.

PS: In the future, perhaps it would be wise to refrain from overtly slamming an entire community you know nothing about, based solely half-cooked assumptions.
