New Climate Change Warning

sebFlyte writes "A new grid computing climate research project, climateprediction.net, has come up with its first major results, and they're really not good news for the planet according to the BBC. The simulations suggest that over the next hundred years we could see average rises of average temperatures of up to 11K, more than twice what was previously thought."

    You get 'insightful' for that?

if you read the article, they claim that they see .8 degrees rise in temperature from 1750 until now. That's right, .8 degrees. They speculate that they might never see a 2 degree increase in the time frame mentioned at the beginning of the articel. What does this mean? Alarmists with an agenda are stacking the article with hype, knowing perfectly well that the facts only support their theory in the worst possible case.

Isn't it true that we've been coming out of an ice age for a LONG time? Isn't it true that, during the period of time sometimes referred to as "the crusades", it was a lot warmer? And, during the period of the dinosaurs, it was CONSIDERABLY warmer than it is now? So doesn't that mean that we're actually in a bit of a cool streak?

Funny. You never hear about that.

Krakatoa put out more greenhouse gases than ALL HUMANITY in history. Why don't we hear about that?

Instead, all we hear about is a bunch of peaceniks who blame President Bush for everything. President Bush was in diapers when the SUV was created, yet he's responsible for the environment. Limousine liberals fly around in private jets, jump in 180' private yachts, yet we never hear any complaints about them... we only hear about conservative republicans. I really wish we'd hear more about the lies told by Hybrid cars on their EPA mileage stickers. Those cars don't get 54 miles per gallon. In fact, some of them don't even get 40mpg. Why is that? Lies perpetuated by a cult of environmental fools that think they're doing us a favor by lying to us?

    What threat did they pose?
They obviously can't deal with the threat of Islamic extremists. So, we will take matters into our own hand. Had the people risen up and delt with it via revolution or civil war in a successful way, we may not even have to set foot in that region. But, shit it the fan, and we have to clean it up.
The entire world poses a threat to the US, should we go out and fix the entire world? Is America competent enough to do that? Many of our past attempts at playing "world police" have completely failed.
When our government lies about WMD in Iraq, lies about Iraqi connections to terrorist groups, lies about Iraq's involvement in 9/11 and then invades Iraq based on those lies and kills thousands of people, how exactly does that mitigate the threat? The Bush administration has created far more problems then they could ever solve, and we're going to be paying for their mistakes for decades to come.

Yes, if the world does not stabilize and poses a clear-and-present danger to the USA. It's sad we even have to do this. But, time to play big brother again and baby sit. And I highly suggest the EU not stand in our way unless you want to go up against OUR military. I would be happy to keep those folks in check too.
Rule #1. Don't fuck with the US. You pull a nasty little stunt like what happen on 911, and you find out how the "Wrath of God" is defined. Do I make myself clear? Good, drill in your head and remember it! As an American, I'm tired of all the little shits saying we are not allowed to defend and deal with threats posed to this country.
And yes...Al Qaeda is in Iraq. Didn't Bush say as much at the beginning? Hmmmmm Just-click-on-this-link-over-----> http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/01/24/iraq.zar qawi/index.html

well, then we have people who say greenhouse gases will cool the planet down (preventing the suns rays from going far enough to the planet to warm it) thus i would think less greenhouse gasses, less ozone, more sunglight, and more water (less ice) would lead to global warming logically so that would mean greenhouse gases arn't the problem, they in fact help fix it, it's the gasses that deplete our ozone layer that are the problem...
