megli writes "OCRemix.org, the popular video game remix site, is announcing on its front page that it has entered a partnership with Electronic Arts. Their forums have erupted with arguments about the benefits and drawbacks of the partnership, especially considering EA's recent bad press." Update: 04/02 18:02 GMT by Z : April 1st hoax story.

      Apparently EA couldn't take it anymore either. Look at this cease and desist letter they sent them... what a bunch of dicks. Can't anybody take a joke?

      I wish places would just stop with April Fool's Day jokes. None of them are ever funny, and they serve no purpose.

      Well, ok, thegia.com's April Fools Day joke from a few years back was funny. They said they were shutting down on April 1, but, they really did shut down.
      Now, that was good.

    Maybe the April One posts will stop if someone acts as if he or she was genuinely "taken in" by one of these articles, thus building the posters' confidence in their ability to beat a dead horse back to life, giving birth to lively humor even if given prognosis of miscarriage and stillbirth, and thus quenching the urge to keep trying.

    EA's lawyer sent OCR a cease-and-desist letter in response. Amusingly enough, they cited OCRemix.com when it's actually .org.
