Final Fantasy Advent Children Release Dated
Gamespot has the date for the DVD release for Final Fantasy: Advent Children. The Square-Enix cg animated film will be released on September 14th in both America and Japan. From the article: "The magazine announced that Advent Children will be released on DVD and made no mention of a PSP-friendly Universal Media Disk (UMD) format. A limited-edition package will be arriving on the same date. Details on what bonuses it will include haven't been disclosed yet. In Japan, the normal edition DVD will be priced at 4,800 yen ($45)."
Isn't it true that this is a sequel to another CGI movie?
I hope the price of the US version is a little more reasonable (whole TV series usually cost $45).
"...made no mention of a PSP-friendly Universal Media Disk (UMD) format.
Why is this is such a big deal? There has been no previous mention of Advent Rising hitting the PSP. What just because Square has released a ton of games for the PS2 that means all their content will be available on a Sony game device?
No sig for you!!
wasn't this supposed to be out last year?
What goes around comes around, kid.
$45?!?!?!? No way! I don't care how much I like Final Fantasy, there's no way I'm shelling out forty five bucks to buy a DVD for a single movie.
Dear diary: Today I stuffed some dolls full of dead rats I put in the blender.
Unable to parse headline. Continuing to next story.
Will this ever be released in Europe ?
There are several FF fanboys that I've seen ONLY get a PSP so they could watch Advent Children on it. "I HAVE to get a PSP, everything else sucks about it BUT IT WILL HAVE ADVENT CHILDREN!!!!"
Sucks to be them!
Still doesn't rule out the possibility of a UMD release later on. My understanding has always been that they'd do DVD before UMD anyways.
"The UMD Video version of the movie is expected to be announced shortly, though Square Enix has been, for the most part, keeping quiet about the version since the movie's announcement."
Which is taken from a recent news posting on rpgamer.com: http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q2-2005/051105a.html
If it turns out that it won't be coming out on UMD (at this point, I'm wondering if there's going to be extra features in that version to make it worthwhile to people), that could make an interesting change in the Sony/S-E partnership... Especially considering S-E's talk lately of Nintendo's Wireless plan and the hints at multiple DS titles aside from Hanjukuu Hero (while PSP is only seeing FF7:Crisis Core to date).
