An anonymous reader writes "A family in Sacromento has covered the side of their house with aluminum to keep the radiowaves from their neighbors at bay. The city has given them one week to remove the life saving shielding or face charges."

I think that the people are just crazy, although they will probably come up with some evidence and prove me wrong, that or they'll be forgotten in a week.

Or put aluminum siding on the house?

I also believe in freedom, but not unlimited freedom. There are no absolutes (except for this one). By making your property look like an eyesore, you are negatively impacting my pocketbook.

It'll be your business when no-one wants to buy your house due to the wacky paintjob of your neighbours.

I believe in freedom. If my neighbors want to paint their house with pink polka-dots then so be it, none of my buisness.

The problem is that a neighbor that does that will lower property values around him, thereby *directly* affecting the livelihood of those nearby.

I have a more practical definition of freedom. You can do whatever you want as long as it does not affect me.
