Life As A Soul Calibur Model

Tim Grube writes "Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a model at E3? The process is long and very tiring. Just think, what if you had to prepare to be a character from a videogame on stage that involves a sword fight. Professional stuntman and actor Ilram Choi has been in multiple commercials for Nike and Mountain Dew. At this year's E3 Ilram was cast as Soul Calibur III's Mitsurugi. Ilram wrote a diary on the days leading up to E3."

No... No... I've never really wondered, actually.

Is the next article going to expose us to the life of wannabe starlets who think trade shows are their step to fame and aging strippers who need to keep putting cash in the kitty to afford their "habit"? Maybe we'll get to find out what it takes to be a food vendor at E3. Or how harrowing it is to be part of the janitorial crew...

That's a local cultural thing, names and thier genders that is.
Anyone with the Name mitsurugi would get some odd reactions here (USA-Midwest) as it's not exactly Bob or Sue or Timmothy.
I could see where it might sound more or less feminin or masculin depending one the cultural norms, or even era.
I had Neighbor whoes middle name was Laverne. Currently that would be thought of us someones aunt, yet when he was named (around 1900!) it was o.k. to give a boy the name Laverne, at least for a middle name.

It reminds me of a story I heard from a professor I heard a few weeks ago. He went to medical school about 50 years ago in the deep south (Georgia I think). He worked his way through school by working at the county register office (or whatever you call it) where birth cirtificates for babies were filed. He would notice that from time to time, poor uneducated black families would name their babies things like "Clitoris" or "Ghonorrea". It was obvious that these families didn't know what those words meant, but heard them in the hospital and though they sounded pretty. What was even more asenine was that the doctors and nurses in the hospital didn't try to change their mind, even though they knew very well what was happening, but rather they found it funny. And it wasn't that they didn't know what was happening, because they would have to sign off on the documentation before it was filed. So my professor would refuse to accept the certificates on some kind of technicality until the names were more appropriate. One day he got a call from the a hospital administrator saying that if he didn't stop poking his nose where it didn't belong, he would report him to his superiors and perhaps make trouble from him at his medical school too. My prof replied that if the administrator wanted to go down that route, he would go visit the newspaper editor at the printing plant across the street and give him some material for some interesting stories on the matter. He said he didn't run into any trouble after that.
