In most states, no you do not need to have another parties consent to record their phone call. In ALL states that have those laws you can record if they say they are going to record. In ALL states you can record person(s) on your property both video and audio, no restrictions. So no, they (the police) were wrong on almost every count and can be sued. With a good lawyer, they'll probably get quite a bit of money.

It occasionaly gets held up in local courts but gets thrown out as soon as you move up a court or two. Overall it does sound like the area is pretty corrupt, I'd be moving out ASAP. Viva Canada

It's pretty clear those in countries who aren't afraid of the human body seem to grow up just the same as everyone else. I like how you brought up how a "cultural difference" is lame without any supportive statements whatsoever, especially since you blast on about how hard work and "courage" is needed. No, what you're talking about is FEAR and lies. Put the fear of punishment and "immorality" into your children if you want for looking at porn, but I'll teach mine what goes on in real life thanks. You're forgetting something though. These people aren't waving a massive flag around saying "THIS STORE SUCKS" they're saying "this specific product on the shelf is not worth your time, try this one over here". It's the same store, just a single product in the store is being targetted though.

It's much like the same thing big biz does with radio, pay the radio stations big bucks to only play their songs (eerily similar to communist propoganda) and either totally filter out, or only allow mild critisism about those few they do play.

This I believe is one of the reasons why Howard Stern is so crazy popular, because he doesn't blindly follow his sponsers and tends to piss in quite a few people's cups. He states it like it is and allows boths sides of an object to be seen. If more stores/businesses took this into practice, then maybe they would actually learn what the users REALLY want and they wouldn't have to worry about stupid shit like hiring 8 editors to only approve the good little snippets for the companies that pay for their product to be "featured".

You could of course, ban accounts, say it's bad, and continue to put forth 40% of your technical force into solving claims of "missing items", "stolen accounts" and "bugged quests"...

OR you could come into the little world I like to call "reality" and eliminate those problems by offering a service that is so automated and straight forward its a money making MACHINE.

Let's look at the alternatives shall we?

40% technical support put toward account/item stealing asshats that don't really tell you what the problem is...or

Put forth minimal effort after initial work (auction site) is up and running and profit...

The ONLY thing that would effectively stop these so called "black market" auctions would be to have NO trading in your game whatsoever and to not allow a credit card to change on the said account unless there was voice and social security number checking.

Were you expecting a goddamn midnight blitz of programmers to swarm down upon the server machine and magically make it all better? You made your freaking point, what do you want to do now? Destroy the server because of your class envy? (nearly every other post was about how Rogues were so "uber l33t").

You can't honestly expect any type of "fair use" policy to apply here people. You're destroying other people's right to play who may not give a flying fuck about your class yet you expect that you should be treated quite the opposite when it comes to YOUR right to play (i.e. the GMs shouldn't kick you off).

Currently virtual items have NO legal value. They don't even EXIST in the eyes of the law, not US law at least (check China and Korea). In EITHER case of winning or losing items would suddenly gain value.

If Blizzard LOST the value would be in the hands of the players, much like baseball cards where anyone could sell, trade, give away whatever they wanted.

If Blizzard WON the value would be in the hands of Blizzard who could be liable under certain laws of rental agreements and misc semantics which ramble on and on (cases based on less evidence and lower expectations have been won, don't doubt it:)

    That's it in a nutshell :)
