Patriot Act to be Expanded

The FBI has gained new powers to demand documents from companies without a judge's approval, as well as the ability to designate subpoenas as secret and punish disclosure of their existence with up to one year in prison."

Are you kidding America never was a democracy in the first place. Get your facts straight. We are a representative republic. Never was a democracy never will be.
At least not with out a civil war.
Grrrr, this is disappointing. I was going to mod this thread, but instead I find myself having to clarify a glowing error.

At no point in history has the United States of America been a democracy. The U.S.A. was founded as a Republic upon Republican (not to be confused with the party) principles. The only other example of a Republic in the history of the world is Rome, (and look where that Republic ended up).
If one actually READS the federalist papers, Madison and Hamilton are fearful of Democracy, and direct rule by the people, as where most of the "founding fathers" (another incorrect term seeing that the median age for the revolutionaries was 30).
