GTA Sex Game Rumour Control
Gamespot's most informative Rumour Control column this week takes aim at a hilarious GTA rumour floating around the internets. From the article: "According to Gtasanandreas.net, one of its users had 'discovered a few sections of unused code in the PS2 version of San An[dreas] for the girlfriend 'missions.' With a bit of memory hacking and such, he discovered these removed portions of mission scripting were to not only put the camera inside the girlfriends' house when you stop in for 'coffee,' but also to make a little mini-game of it." Their final verdict was that the "mini-game" was, of course, Bogus. Funny, though. They also discuss LucasArts' support for the Revolution, the Sonic MMOG, and Nvidia PS3 real-time demos.
So there's this rumor that nobody has heard of until Gamespot reported it. And it's not true. Thanks, Slashdot, I really feel informed!
If it's not real, what's this mod unlocking?
Not a Twitter sockpuppet... but I wish I was.
... a rumour has surfaced that the Slashcode codebase contains an unused portion of code for filtering out rubbish stories. The final verdict was that rumour was of course, Bogus. Funny though.
They definietely shwoed the sex minig game on aots show last night for the computer which had to be hacked, but the agme is in there and should be in the ps2 it's just unlockable until someone makes a crack for it over something like a usb key or memory card.
Their final verdict was that the "mini-game" was, of course, Bogus. Funny, though. They also discuss LucasArts' support for the Revolution, the Sonic MMOG, and Nvidia PS3 real-time demo It wasn't until I saw the PS3 real-time video claim as true did I know this was completely bogus.
I've seen shampoo commercials that were more arousing.
it's not a rumour
they really did have it during test phase, except the sex wasn't graphic. or something...
There's a thread on gtaforums (may require registration) about this mod. My copy of San Andreas is still, uh, in the mail so I have yet to try it myself. GTAForums (or its predecessors) have been around for quite a while. Compilers exist for GTA3 and Vice City. If Rockstar included the code in the game, even without linking to it in their scripts, they must have known it was going to be unlocked. I'm impressed at how quickly it was done.
...and the rumor that was debunked seems to be the one about "GTA:LCS"--
What we heard: Early in the week, some of those sitting on the fence about buying a PSP probably got pushed off. The tipping point was a batch of "leaked" GTA: LCS images (pictured), which showed what looked like both online and ad hoc multiplayer options for the PSP game. One screen also showed menu for team-based action, with each side taking the role of one of the gangs from GTA III. The screens also showed pictures of Carl "CJ" Johnson, leading some to speculate the game would be a prequel to San Andreas. Unfortunately, those high-flying dreams got shot down right quick. "These shots are 100 percent FAKE," said a Rockstar representative.
...the Slashdot male whore.
Everyone seems to have jumped on the not-true bandwagon awfully quick. The mini-game sex animations are all in the game data, and the voice actors even did the voice acting for them. Among all this disbelief I posted a quick video at http://www.gtasanandreas.net/news/index.php/ with a video that should disprove any doubt.
Link to gamespot and get crap for information. At least the updated their info...now Slashdot needs to do the same.
[UPDATE] Initially, UK Resistance pointed out that many of the graphics look "awful and amateur," so RC gave it a "probably bogus" determination. But over the weekend, they were sent "evidence" from Gtasanandreas.net that the hack was "real," evidence that was even more mature in nature. So while its origins are unclear, there is a San Andreas sex minigame out there.

Not only did GameSpot misreport the sex minigame, they were also somewhat wrong about the GTA screenshots. Yes, those pictures of the PSP running the game are fake, but there are real magazine scans out there. http://www.psp411.com/show/news/265/0/First_Grand_ Theft_Auto__Liberty_City_Stories_Screenshots.html
The question we all have to be asking about each other is: Is this what GTA means to us? Just some dumb game that we would like to have an extra sex sim in? Sure, the target group will most likely be interested, but I think the average player didn't buy GTA to get a sex sim. Don't you all think so?
I never personally like the series in general, but I think it is an awesome game in its own respect and other players would think so too. If I wanted to buy GTA, I wouldn't buy it because there's an unlockable sex sim in it. It'll be like buying a REALLY REALLY crappy game just because it has "good" graphics. ie: Doom3
...and post a high-bandwith mirror/.torrent instead of Slashdotting yourself?
