Congratulations, you've described what the Wii basically is, a smaller GCN with remote support and slightly enhanced RAM and graphics. Thats it. Honestly it is, just go back and read other/. stories about developer responses.
The N64 games aren't THAT large in all honesty. They range in size of 8MB (64Mb) - 32 MB (256Mb). Seriously its not THAT much when you consider how large PATCHES for games like WoW and BF2 are.

Rather than produce an expensive next gen wireless controller, I'm looking at you $50 Wireless 360 controller, Nintendo has opted to keep the cost down to make it a smaller investment for teh average consumer. So instead of having a $50 controller, it might retail for $25-$35 instead. As you said, lithium batteries aren't cheap, but consumers often are.
While she will probally not "graduate" to Metroid she may instead graduate/move on to WarioWare, Meteos, NSMB, or even Nintendogs to name a few. Brain Training is so popular because its intuitive, and the games I mentioned are pretty straight forward and don't have complicated controls. Nintendo or whoever is expecting casual gamers to say, "Hey this isn't so hard, I've heard a lot of good things about Meteos, maybe I'll give it a shot." and with DS games between 20-35 casual gamers can stand to take a risk a bit more with a purchase.

I thought it was obvious, they didn't sell on DVD so perhaps those desperate bleeding edge tech people would be so desperate for some HD goodness that they would willing suffer through those horrible movies just to say, "I watched an HD movie and you didn't." Hell, the article proved my point.
The best place to get accurate #'s on Japanese hardware sales is Games Are Fun. They get their data through Fumitsu (if I recall) and then show it off on the site.
Wow, a/. first showing proof.
Actually, to be elible for any of the awards the product/game HAS to be in playable form (apart from the Best Cinematics category). Since Nintendo had 27 Wii games on the floor including Wii Sports and ExciteTruck I don't see where you say they "only exist in product brochures and in marketer's minds..."
Oh, and DNF doesn't have a playable form let alone a video form that reflects ANYTHING of what the current game might even be.
Hold up now, what do you mean there hasn't been a blockbuster indie game? I'm DAMN sure Tetris is considered and indie game since it was made for kicks and look how popular it is and how much money it has made over the last two decades!
Well, good news for you then! EA, Capcom, Namco, Activision, Sega, Squenix (Square Enix), Taito, and a bunch of others are all in support of the Revolution. In fact, SEGA is releasing games for the virtual console of the Genesis era. There are a lot of other companies on board as well, for the most comprehensive listing check here: http://www.n-sider.com/articleview.php?articleid=4 97
While it looks somewhat disheartening not to see EVERY developer pledging support most developers don't join in till after they see if it will fly or not, so who is to say that the third party support won't grow. With all the interest in the console I'm sure most companies are on the verge, they just need the financial inscentive.
Nintendo made the games based on the SGI, but the N64 was NOT as powerful as the SGI. It couldn't pump out that much resolution and having carts instead of CDs limited the amount of detail you had for textures. If you emulate an N64 game or even have played either Zelda that were ported to the GCN you will notice how good they look, and I'm telling you now that it wasn't due to "overhauling and upgrading the graphics" its the higher resolution output.
USA TODAY said that the REV would be 2-3 better than the GCN, however Nintendo stated later that it hasn't even got the hardware finalized and has not released any performance information.

Considering even wealthy Americans think the PS3 is expensive, what makes you think the poor will be able to afford one?

Shaq-Fu, overpriced at $50 and still overpriced at $9 :D

Apparently SONY and MS are bedfellows, first SONY's DRM now this.
This just in, Duke Nukem Forever has just been announced as a launch title for the aptly named "Phantom" game console.
"Dammit, can't they make a Windows killer?" They already did, its called "Windows ME"
Article says: "Duke Nukem Forever in Production" It SHOULD say, "Duke Nukem, Forever in Production."

Just a heads up about the link not working properly, takes you back to your own account Journal page.
I am sure stock holders don't view the X-box as a success, it is a financial nightmare.
I think it is very interesting that Harrison speaks out the need for innovation after a brutal attack on the DS.
The question is, is SONY paying for it this time?
...the only OS you can jump off of.
Simple! Because who would buy a game on a system with people like THIS!
