iPod Gets The Royal Nod

frostilicus2 writes "Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England seems to have taken quite an interest in technology recently. She's now getting hip and funky with an Apple iPod." From the article: "If the thought of the Queen trolling through Apple's online jukebox, iTunes looking for 'hits' is a little too much for the frontal lobes, the Sun assures its readers that, like most things, she probably has a footman to do it for her."

John Howard is the Prime Minister of Australia. He was one of the first leaders to express support for George Bush's plan to invade Afganstian.

It's Her Majesty. Not Her Royal Majesty. She is the Sovereign and does not need the Royal tag added because she IS Royal. Yanks have some difficulty with this, no doubt, but that's the way it is.

I hate it when people get her forms of address wrong. Kinda like calling Mr. Bush The Honorable President.

Did Johnnie Howard's nagging pay off in the end?

Yeah, I bought a nice new iPod and left it at Cheviot Bay for him.

It would never be Sir Jobs.

Rather Sir Steven, or Sir Steven Jobs. But since he's not a member of the commonwealth, it would only ever be Steven Jobs KBE.

It's the British Monarchy, not the English one, although I guess there are quite a few here who would be happy with a republic. Although having said that, Elizabeth I was Queen of England and not Scotland, so Elizabeth II of Britain is technically Elizabeth I of Scotland, so... that would just mean that the headline is actually cleverly localised for someone like me living in Scotland.

    Makes sense!
