Longhorn's Offical Name is Windows Vista

UnkleAsdf writes "The folks at Redmond have long pointed to the user interface of the next generation Windows release as one of its major selling points. Now, it appears Microsoft has chosen an official name for Longhorn with just that in mind. Enter: Windows Vista. Microsoft is expected to make an official announcement early Friday morning." From the article: "Microsoft has also registered domains to go along with the newly christened Windows, including windowsvista.com. The domains were registered in late March, indicating the company made the decision even before WinHEC gave developers their first taste of Longhorn in over a year."

That Microsoft should stop calling their OS "Windows".

It's a tired name, now synonymous with spyware, virii, headaches, problems, lack of security and worse. If nothing else, they can market it a lot more easily...

"Tired of the same spyware? Scared of losing your identity to some scammer online??! Microsoft now introduces "Longhorn", a revolutionary new operating system that will put an end to all your old concerns."

Granted... there will just be new concerns, but that's not what marketing is about, is it?

That is hardly funny. Make sure to at least learn Sanskrit before assigning meanings to words which aren't even a part of Sanskrit. Let me guess, Sanskrit was the first 'exotic' language which popped into your head? If your post was funny, it could remotely have been justified. It's not and is just an annoyance.
