Longhorn's Offical Name is Windows Vista
UnkleAsdf writes "The folks at Redmond have long pointed to the user interface of the next generation Windows release as one of its major selling points. Now, it appears Microsoft has chosen an official name for Longhorn with just that in mind. Enter: Windows Vista. Microsoft is expected to make an official announcement early Friday morning." From the article: "Microsoft has also registered domains to go along with the newly christened Windows, including windowsvista.com. The domains were registered in late March, indicating the company made the decision even before WinHEC gave developers their first taste of Longhorn in over a year."
Hasta la vista, baby!

This is what it brings to mind for me.
I was thinking more along the lines of asta lavista baby.
Like the chevy nova.
In spanish "no va" means "doesn't go".
The GeekNights podcast is going strong. Listen!
is called 'Windows Vista Cruiser'!
I don't see why Microsoft even bothers anymore, there's only so much you can add to a wheel.
The easy part was getting the brain out, but the hard part was getting the brain out.
I wonder what Epicor http://www.epicor.com/www/products/manufacturing/v ista will have to say about that. As far as I know, this is a current product (even if it is a real piece of crap IMO)
The world according to SComps
... are M$ being particularly blatant this time? Surely they have heard of Montevista Linux before now? For the simple reason it is fast becoming one of the most popular embedded OS's thanks to it implementations with TomTom's GO GPS product., which over here in the UK is soaring in popularity. Are they perhaps going to try and cloud the issue with releasing embedded Windows Vista and hope to profit from the confusion?
Ok ok Maybe it is a little paranoid, but better be paranoid cause you never know who is watching you.
Rooster - A friend. "Anyone's friend in particular or just generally well disposed to people?"
Thats the same reason the chevy nova didn't sell in latin america....
Va means "Go".
"The need to build the internet comes from something inside us, something programmed... something we can't resist."
Yet another similar thing happened in Mexico once they introduced the Chevy Nova a couple of years back... No va meaning "Won't work" or "Don't work" in spanish... that car wasn't selling too well ;)
