Halo Movie Awards 2005

Funkmon writes "For the last two years, Slashdot has announced the Rockets on Prisoner Awards. This year, though, is different and better. The winners will win real golden Master Chief trophies, Red vs. Blue DVDs, and much more. There was a public nomination process around a week ago, and now, the website is open for voting on Halo Movies. See a Halo movie you really liked? See if it's nominated, and vote for it!"

Well I'm glad to see Halo getting some recogonition as a potential medium for budget film development. For far too long have camcorders and amatuer film capture gear dominated the market. I vote RvB.

But what if RvB wins? do they win a copy of their own dvd?

They get a copy of the 4th season DVD from the future. Geez, how hard was that to figure out?

It's the Halo fan movie awards - vids made using the Halo engine, not the actual movie itself.

Yeah, a better news title would have been "Halo Machinima Awards" but a newspost is a newspost.

I think most readers here already had their fair share of Halo. Why is this still being hyped? Halo 1 was fun (although neither original or ground breaking), but Halo 2 had absolutely nothing special to offer. If it were up to me, Halo 3 is never released (stop-beating-a-dead-horse)...

Halo 2 did offer a fantastic on-line multi-player mode. Probably the best out there for consoles.

In fact, I have been 'ruined' and I find it very difficult to play other games on line. Once you have played a game that works as well as Halo 2 it is difficult to drop down to anything else.

Some great (and not-so-great) work in there. I'm to see where 3d game based film making will go, there have been more and more machinima film festivals cropping up (http://festival.machinima.org/) and more and more virtual film companies forming.

Does anyone have any links to making a "halo movie"? This quite interests me and my xbox need to do something new; it's getting bored playing games.
