Kingdom Hearts 2 - Now With Tron

Much anticipated sequel to the original Square-Enix/Disney collaboration just became even more interesting. 1up.com has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 2 will feature a Tron world, based on the 1982 Disney film. From the article: "As you can see in a scan posted in this thread, Goofy, Donald and that cutie Sora are fully decked out in the duds of the Master Control Program universe, as well as Mr. Kevin Flynn himself, Jeff Bridges. Having the crew of Kingdom Hearts tackle a world based on a live-action film is nothing new to this sequel as a world based on Pirates of the Caribbean, complete with a seriously detailed Johnny Depp has long since been revealed."

Uh, it is a crappy and short game.

I think the simplest explanation is the "gummi ship" which was essentially a WASTE OF TIME between the various "game" worlds. To go between worlds, you had to fly the Worlds Worst Shooter, a completely boring and POINTLESS minigame that accomplished NOTHING but wasting time. Keep in mind, the entire point behind Kingdom Hearts is to be playing an action RPG, NOT an insanely crappy space shooter. The "this is only hear to annoy you" minigame is duplicated throughout much of the rest of the game, where countless puzzles and enemies are only there to annoy you, not make the game fun.

Then there's the combat system. You essentially can win any fight by mashing Square (I think) repeatedly. The only real combat is with the camera and your allies, trying to get a view of the screen and trying to get your "allies" to actually help you. You can also put up a good struggle against the controls, trying to figure out which wrong context-sensetive action your character will do next.

I'm told there's a story in there, but I couldn't figure out WHY you were going between the worlds at all and what it was. Everything is just a confused mix of Final Fantasy and Disney characters.

Seriously, if you haven't played this game already, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. It may look and sound nice, but it's an absolutely HORRID experience to play.

And, the animation on the main Disney guys WAS pretty good.

This time around, they're putting Tron and Pirates of the Carribean into a game. For the characters in the game, no problem, these are just another set of "worlds" to travel though, they're supposed to be different from each other.
