  1. Re:Isn't that what he wants? on The History of Videogame Lawsuits · · Score: 2, Interesting

Given Jack's track record, that's still half a page more than he deserves.

  2. If you were using Linux Firefox would... on OpenOffice Illustrates Open Source's Limitations? · · Score: 1

Just kidding...though I'm not sure how Firefox on your OS eats up so much memory.

Right now, I've got 4 tabs open on Firefox 1.5 on Win2K Pro, and it only gobbles up 43MB.

  3. 2D Castlevania rocks. on Castlevania Leads DS Charge · · Score: 1

Haven't played Dawn of Sorrow yet, but once I get my DS, it'll be one of the first games that I play. At least in this case, Koji Igarashi (and Konami as a whole, by association) knows what the hell he's doing. Aria of Sorrow on the GBA is that damn good, too.

Now, if he'll promise not to make any more games as bad as Nanobreaker, then I'll truly be happy.

  4. Re:Embarrassing on Music Should Be Heard But Not Understood · · Score: 1

Fred Durst makes music? That's news to me!

Alone in the Dark's box office and rental numbers From the site: Box Office: $5,132,655 Rentals: $630,000 Apparently, even the Wal*Mart crowd knows a turd when they see it.

  6. Re:Won't someone think of the children? on Illinois Videogame Law Struck Down · · Score: 1

Beats me. AFAIK, there really aren't that many AO-rated games released in North America/Europe, so that wouldn't do much damage.

  7. hmmm... on Earliest Bird Had Feet Like Dinosaur · · Score: 1

Either the earliest bird had feet like a dinosaur or one of the dinosaurs had a body like a bird? Decisions, decisions....

  8. Two years too late... on Nokia Declares N-Gage A Failure · · Score: 1

It took them a while, but Nokia finally acknowledges what most of the gaming public already knew. Seriously, when you have good-to-great handheld systems like the DS, the GBA, and the PSP out, what room is there for a mediocre system like the N-Gage? Heck, even if those three weren't out at this point, I don't think Nokia's handheld taco would have survived.

  9. Hey! on IT Workers Worst Dressed Employees · · Score: 1

I take offense to that article. I think I'm a very well dressed IT employee. Now excuse me, a pen has exploded in my shirt pocket again.

  10. Good for them on Mega Bloks Wins Supreme Court Battle Against Lego · · Score: 4, Funny

I'm surprised Mega Bloks won against Lego. I figured the odds were stacked against them.

  11. Wow on Mad Scientist Invents Colored Bubbles · · Score: 5, Funny

"...Chemical burns, ruined clothes, 11 years, half a million dollars..."
Sounds like Michael Jackson's life story.

  12. Tron World? Huh? on Kingdom Hearts 2 - Now With Tron · · Score: 1

I seriously doubt that anybody in this game's target audience has even heard of the movie Tron, let alone seen it. I'm gonna have to take a "wait-and-see" approach with this world. If it's anything like the Gummi Ship sequences from the last game, then I'm jumping off the bandwagon.

  13. Re:Smart thing to do on The Return of Storied Adventures? · · Score: 1

George Broussard should take notice. If he didn't spend all of his time jumping back and forth between engines, Duke Nukem Forever would be out already, and the gaming community wouldn't need to make such blatantly obvious jokes. Well, the eventual comparisons to Daikatana would still apply.

  14. I am Jack's distorted reality on Industry Leaders Frustrated With Game Culture · · Score: 2, Informative

Naturally, Jack fails to understand that Take-Two Interactive isn't just "GTA" this and "Manhunt" that. Think about it for a second...if Take-Two were really to go under (which apparently seems to be Jack's ulterior motive), not only would there be no more Grand Theft Auto, but we'd also lose games like Civilization, Pirates, and a bunch of great sim sports titles from the 2K Sports label. As much as he wants the non-gaming public to think otherwise, Take-Two does publish games that aren't over-the-top violent.

  15. I'm willing to bet... on Castlevania On the Big Screen · · Score: 1

...that the W.S. in Paul "W.S." Anderson stands for "What Substance?" Seriously...I was confused after watching five minutes of Alien vs. Predator. How in the would could anyone mess up something so simple like that?

  16. Re:tobacco still sucks - canabis on Safe Cigarettes? · · Score: 1

Yeah. I've noticed that, too. In the CVS where I work, the mayor had laid down a ban on the sale of all of our "heavy" tobacco products (cigars, chewing tobacco, rolling papers, etc.) because she thought that it would stem the use of that stuff to roll joints. It didn't quite work out that way, and only made the smokers angry at us because we couldn't sell. Needless to say, the plan was a failure, and the ordinance was repealed two weeks later. Lately, we've been getting an increase in customers who walk into the store with "cases of the munchies". Strangely, they didn't order any rolling papers, but they were giggling continuously as they picked up a handful of Baby Ruths and Butterfingers. I have seen the face of a weed attic, and boy...it ain't pretty.
