Actually, why not add a thermometer (thermal sensor) to the palm rest of the mouse. Maybe have it sense when a hand is on it and display the pointer only then, hiding the pointer otherwise?

We all (gasp!) have to step away from the computer now and then. If something demanded your attention, like a new email or IM, this mouse could display the specifics for you while using negligible power. This caller-id-like function could allow you to glance deskward and see the culprit's IM avatar or email address without even breaking the screensaver. It's a phone screen, why not use it like one?

Into US Dollars (via Yahoo Finance):Y'know, when I hear the term "Output Mouse", I'm expecting the opposite of an input mouse; that is, the computer issues commands to move the mouse and it does so, taking your hand with it. And output clicks are handled by poking you in the fingers or thumb. Scroll wheel still needs work.
This just sounds like an LCD display duct-taped onto a mouse by comparison.
Demanding constant attention will only lead to attention.
