There is a bug in GNOME which screws up the window manager if you double click the title bar. Noted here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436537 "clicking in upper right corner closes window in background - very unexpected"
Very frustrating and GNOME is doing the wrong thing.
I suppose it will be good to remove the other buttons so that more people experience this, and hence a fix can be found.
Microsoft, like any other company are free to choose their own policies of course. This puts the onus on the open source communities to actually show innovation and for users to speak up and expect specific apps and features.
In many environments around Open Source, companies often use the term "differentiation" to clearly mark their closed source products as superior and reason to hide away.
Is it possible for Open Source to actually differentiate? What apps or must have features are created and exist in the Open Source world that users of Microsoft phones will need?
As a long time slashdot reader and wise community member, I hear everyday how Open Source gives us freedom, however that is not really a must-have app as most regular people would not know or care where the source came from as long as it were actively maintained and had people at the other end supporting it.

I like to read on my handheld as much as real books:) but there are times when my n900 outshines literally a real book - night time curled up in bed with the lights off.
I'm sure you can use your wire cutters and plug in your soldering iron whilst on a flight:) the stewards won't mind a bit. infact they will probably be happy to practice their restraining and tasering techniques.
of course it does, but how many apps actually bang the hardware enough to care? user space is open and inviting, let the frameworks deal with the nitty gritty.
writing in qt or sdl or gtk or even native x11 apps doesnt touch any of that stuff.
who says that when iphone+4 comes out or the next android device comes out your apps will be compatible there?
How to overclock?
If the computer chips are made of graphene, will we have to use silicon pencils to do the overclocking trick?
I guess you did not put much thought into this comment.

It does not help when you write something that implicitly also utilises your handwriting too! ;)
I get the feeling from a privacy POV, my user name fairly low on my priorities

I bet the core is shifting because of the popularity of neodymium magnets.
Damn kids buying them on the internet and shifting the balance.
Hang on, I thought you did not take identifiable stuff with you when on deployment?
Name and rank is all that is given? (according to tv anyway!)
"Oh sorry Mr Torturer, I got a call from my girlfriend, can we stop the beatings whilst I take this?"
This is comfortably a self solving issue.
You can only complain about your network problem if you can get on the network.
*grin*
Thank god they didn't ban floppy disks.
I knew these bad boys would come in handy one day!
ok, so I arrive in a town at an intersection with a button.
I am going to press it because how the heck do I know whether its connected or not?
RIP Benoit.
A true genius no longer of this world.
His work has been inspiration to
upload a photo of the person purchasing the item at the point of sale.
chances are, there will be a little kid (mine makes calls on my n900) or the owner.

its not just any fusor though.
It was created by Philo T. Farnsworth.
I wonder if he also said "Good news, everyone..."
the clutter they have added is remaining logged in and making it difficult to tell at a glance.
3 fluid ounces, definitely 3 fluid ounces.
to be honest, they have dumped and abandoned nuclear weapons in the ocean.
one plane wont worry the big cheeses

the new tardis appears to be a labout of love for a guy who posts on livejournal
his name is douglas442 and he appears to have started work on the tardis around 18 months ago.
