"How to Talk Like a Pirate" Film

An arrr-nonymous reader writes, "With International Talk Like a Pirate Day mere days away, it's best to be prepared with this high-school film reel 'for the less nautically inclined among us.'" Dave Barry gave momentum to this international movement. You'll have to decide for yourself which of talklikeapirate.com or talklikeapirateday.com more accurately conveys the genuine holiday spirit.

I get to wear an eye patch and call myself an internet pirate? It's the RIAA's dream! Think of all the lawsuit revenue!

So anyway, I pwned some warez, but new games are teh sux. I used emule to rip some complete albums for a friend, and while I was at it: I grabbed some gameboy advanced roms. And I did it all at Panera's Bread so the RIAA can't trace me.

I was surfing the piratebay and tried to look for albums in the search box.

I was like "arrr, where be the new loot from Soul Asylum, matey?" and nothing relevant would come out in the search results.

So I did "avast, pirate captain, I be looking for The Silver Lining. Might I barter a bottle of rum for your treasure map linking to the torrent file?" Still nothing relevant.

"Look, you scalliwag, you best be giving me the new tracks with David Pirner's voice or I shall organize a mutiny and it be the plank for you, arrrrr!"

Then I found out all you had to do was type "The Silver Lining" and it would show up. This pirate talk thing is overrated.

With most kids these days trying to talk like a 'homey' do we really need yet another dialect to mess up the communications grid?

"Arg, homey, that bitch could shiver me timber!"

Excuse me, I have to run to the bathroom.

I'd be a talking like a pirate, but I have had a nogging to much o' rum, and taking ain't what I'm best at.
Ye'd best heed the forestay, Jim, or we'll all be overboard. Pass another bottle of Wray and Nephew, if you'd be so kind... and watch the blasted wheel as you go! (billions of blistering blue barnacles)

As every loyal Pastafarian knows, the Flying Spaghetti Monster considers all things piratical blessed and holy.

Furthermore, it is clearly the case that the decline in pirates over the years has lead to a huge increase in global warming and other distasters. Only by promoting the pirate and his way of life can we hope to save this beautiful planet of ours!

It seems as if a mad-pack too many of you land-lubbers tried to board that poor ship at once, and she's capsized!*

Did any man-jack among you manage to capture the precious booty and abscond with it to a sturdier vessel before the original was blown to davy-jones?
