Listen Online To Last HOPE Conference
Radio Statler! writes "This weekend marks 2600's last Hackers on Planet Earth (HOPE) conference at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City. For those of you that can't make it this weekend, Radio Statler! will be streaming live from the event the whole weekend. There will be simulcasted talks, interviews with speakers and important guests, and music 24 hours a day for the duration of the con. Listeners can request music or submit questions by phone or IRC."
The conference schedule (PDF) is available if you're curious about a particular seminar, though not all of them will be broadcast. CNet will be running some related stories about presentations from the conference. So far, they've written about a hacking how-to presentation. We briefly discussed the seventh and final HOPE conference last month.
Wish I could be... hopefully this will not actually be the final HOPE conference.

Am I a bad geek for not knowing what this is all about?
As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields.
I'm disappointed they changed the date from the conference from 2007. I needed an excuse to use that time machine I bought :-(.

Is a "Featured Speaker" on the last day of the conference? I thought he was dead.
Guess they couldn't get the guy who makes animals out of balloons.

As opposed to somewhere else?

This is a really bad loss for the hacker (in the real sense of the word) community. I've never actually made it out to one before but I've made sure to listen to the majority of the recordings from the past conferences. There's some great content by some really intelligent speakers and I know that I'm really looking forward to some of the talks this year. Check out the list to see if you find anything you're interested in (you probably will): The Last HOPE.
I'm at HOPE right now... Tune in and her me heckle from the audience. I'm the one making fun of Moot from 4chan - you will pics of me there later this weekend harassing him and maybe trying to get a kiss tomorrow night when he's drunk... Mark my words!
Probably about 3 years or so before the empire strikes back.
Emanuel Goldstein is just another self righteous jackass who sold his soul to the US Government after 9/11, another jack off that decided the illusion of security is better than REAL security or freedom of any kind. After 9/11 2600 agreed to edit its content and censor its content in accordance with requests from the secret service. ADDITIONALLY 2600 has helped law enforcement to apprehend black hat hackers (look up Indiana State Police V PRM) the defendant was unknown till some one at 2600 (editor and chief) decided to "anonymously" inform the Indiana State Police about possible illegal changes to database records owned by the state. for the record i stopped paying for that crappy magazine.. most of the stuff you can find in there is online for free now. and if you read this EG... you know exactly what I am talking about a$$hole!
(...nt...)
How can I believe you when you tell me what I don't want to hear?
Last Conference? Obviously the hackers know more than they're letting on.
Hey, .mp3 format. If anyone was able to capture the full weekend set, or wants to trade captured streams, email me at sh0ckten(at)gmail(dot)com. I'll be glad to upload what I was able to capture to rapidshare for those who missed the few sessions I was able to grab.
I was wondering if anyone was able to capture the stream for those of us who couldn't catch the whole weekend. I was able to capture a few speakers / sessions in
Anyway, I so hope that this wasn't the last Hope but we shall see. Thanks so much to those who contact me with the ability to share captured streams.
Thanks again,
sh0ckten
Has anybody recorded the live radio streams? I can't seem to find any recordings of this anywhere, I missed the live stream. :-(
Also links to video recorings - even if not free of charge - would be welcome!
