Microsoft To Announce Jerry Seinfeld Ads Cancelled

An anonymous reader writes "Valleywag says the Jerry Seinfeld ads are over — In a phone call, Frank Shaw confirms that Microsoft is not going on with Seinfeld, and echoes his underlings' spin that the move was planned. There is the 'potential to do other things' with Seinfeld, which Shaw says is still 'possible.' He adds: 'People would have been happier if everyone loved the ads, but this was not unexpected.'"

    The ads were like Vista.

    1.Waste of money:

A vast waste of money at $300 million.
A vast waste of money at $5 billion.

    Didn't do the basics

Didn't say what it was selling.

It would have been better doing nothing.

    Has made Microsoft look crap.
Apparently, it would have been better to stick to XP.

    Soon to be replaced.

    By new ads.
    By Windows 7.

And by the way - for all those people who are saying about sticking with XP - and MS should go back to XP:

    XP is CRAP.

If you think XP is good then try out Ubuntu - you will be blown away by how much faster it is to start with.

Is this the new way to farm karma on Slashdot? Pretend that you not only sat through a relatively long Microsoft commercial, but actually liked it?

that everyone in America realizes that JERRY SEINFELD ISN'T FUNNY? He's never been funny, he'll never BE funny. I've seen funnier bars of soap. Maybe there's hope for America after all.
