Election Dirty Tricks About To Begin
An anonymous reader writes "ABC is warning that dirty election tricks are about to start. In the past, they've ranged from late-night robo-calls to voter intimidation. ABC has a pretty good list of what to watch out for as told by Allen Raymond, a former Republican operative, who was reformed after spending three months in prison in 2006 for pulling some of the stunts he now helps to prevent." To make this story timely, last week someone broke into a McCain campaign office in Missouri and stole a laptop computer containing "strategic information" about the local campaign.
It's just more of the same old tricks. The dead and house pets have been voting democrat for years.

Well, that's better than what Bush did in 2000. He didn't answer a single question, and somehow he won it.
Right, because things are going so peachy in Europe. If you've ever heard the kinds of things that British expats for example say about their former country. The absurd treatment of minority groups in France or the conspicuous lack of first amendment protections in most of Europe.
You can say what you like about the US, but at least you can say pretty much all of it. If I want to say that we were right to try and stay out of WWII even as genocide occurred, I'd be completely within my rights, I could even go further and suggest that it was a good thing, try doing that in Europe. It is a genuinely disgusting sentiment, but here you can actually say it.
You can knock it all you like, but this is about as bad as it gets, it's unlikely that it won't get better regardless of which party wins the election.

Being smarter just means that he's smart enough to hoodwink the general populace without them knowing that they're being screwed. I wouldn't use the rest of the world as a guideline to who would be best suited as our next president. They typically don't have our best interests at heart because, well they're not part of the U.S. go figure. Your assessment is clearly an echo of the liberal media, and the boring tripe they've been spewing for months now. If you really are concerned about the country, why don't you do a bit of research on how each of the candidates have voted? Find out what Obama's involvment was with a program (along with Bill Ayers) to support radical education groups that are attempting to raise up our next generation of domestic terrorists. Get to know the bills they voted on, and why they voted the way they did. Being president requires a little more than presense. Decisions will have to be made, and sometimes those decisions will have adverse consequences. It's one thing to get up on stage, and talk telling everyone what they want to hear. It's quite another to actually implement those ideas, figure out how to pay for them, and then live with the backlash from those that don't agree. If you want to talk about disasterous take a serious look at what it would cost us to implement universal health care. Then consider where that money will come from. We still don't know how we're going to pay for this wretched bail out plan, but I can guarantee we are going to pay for it in some respect. The common folks always do. Even if you stick the bill to the top 1 percent, who do you think provides the jobs, and the capital for investments that keep the economy going. That's where the economics really trickle down. On top of that he's going to institute government run health care with approximately the same price tag. That alone is enough to bankrupt this country. Talk about disasterous. Obama talks about taxing the rich as though it has no impact on anyone else. He's living in a fantasy if he really thinks that's true. Far more likely though, is he knows exactly what's going to happen, and the only way he can sell it to the pubic is to omit any negative consequences, and focus on sticking it to the rich which of course everyone loves to do. He doesn't care about America, he just wants to advace his socialist agenda. I'm almost hoping that he does get elected just so all of you who think you're so damn smart actually find out what you've really bought into. Open you eyes for crying out loud.

We've already got one, and I just happen to live there. What I don't do, however, is blindly follow a inappropriately literal and blatantly false interpretation of one of our founding documents. The point of that line was to say that, born prince or peasant, we are all human and all have a right to live free. It is not some sort of blank check to enforce the lowest common denominator upon society.
I do feel sorry for the guy at the polling place (and his mother); such a birth defect is a terrible thing. However, I am not going to try to delude myself into believing that his vote is somehow magically just as beneficial to society as that of myself or anyone else.

this is why mc cain prefers to speak in smaller town-hall style meetings where he can engage in an actual meaningful dialogue with constituents, rather than obama on his exalted stage of reality distortion and propaganda.
he has the biggest messiah complex since Bono. though i give bono props for all he's done in africa over the years, even giving GWB SOME semblance of redemption (not saying any of the atrocities against the planet he's committed will ever be excusable) by convincing him to forgive some african debt as well as to commit to help fighting aids and poverty by giving aid.
-obama likes to speak in large crowds as it contributes to his cult of personality. much like stalin, hitler, or any of those leaders who would rather speak from a pedestal on high in a unilateral fashion where they cannot be stopped or questioned or called out on their bullshit. he is afraid of true confrontation, which is why he at first resisted postponing the debate to go help with the bailout package.
even if it WAS a stunt by mc cain to call him back to washington, he should have readily accepted the challenge, as a test, as an opportunity to actually prove how he can contribute to helping solve the nation's problems in a time of dire consequence and circumstance. he should have risen to the occasion if he was even half the leader he pretends to be. i can't believe how much people let him off the hook. or how much they say palin's let off the hook. palin has been treated terribly by the news media.
In Missouri they upgraded the Voter Registration database 2 weeks or so ago and dropped a number of registered voters (including my wife's sister who voted last month in local elections). To check to see if you are still registered hit sos.mo.gov (very ironic there) you have until midnight today to register (sorry for the short notice but I just found out 30 min ago.) BTW - no local news stories on that one.
