    Try filecloud.io they are an Irish company with servers in Amsterdam

    free accounts come with up to 1000GB free storage (reduced redundancy sort of like amazon) and more if you pay 6.99$ / month (29.99/6 months) that comes with raided storage

    you can encrypt files yourself before uploading whichever method you want

    they have previously went to courts and got advice from Irish Data Protection commissioner that if any 3rd party wants your data they have to get an Irish court order.

    Except one can not buy bitcoins with a credit card or paypal,
    1. because these companies hate bitcoin and what it represents for them
    2. because of a high chargeback risk no one who doesnt trust you would sell you bitcoins for paypal

    You are correct, the spokesman on the radio (here in Ireland) was blabbing on about them putting pressure on the government now via lobbying.
    government who in all honesty have better things to be worrying about such as getting the country of out the deepening depression we are still in (and one that they helped get us into!)

    but people here (mostly USasians :D) need to know that Ireland had the most expensive bank bailout in world per head of population, almost 10x your mess
    and probably the most incompetent and corrupt government in western world, who are now running a deficit of 20% of GDP which would make the Greeks look good

    and we will be paying for this for many generations :(

    I'm from Ireland

    unfortunately Eircom (ex state owned Telecom Eireann)

    own almost all of the coper/phone network in country

    outside the big cities (where you can get cable with UPC) the choice boils down (assuming your close enough to exchange...) to Eircom or wireless

    thats if your lucky enough to have either, since most of the country is very sparsely populated

    i am moving to the countryside soon, so i wont have much choice...
