Study Says Cosmic Rays Do Not Explain Global Warming
flock2000 writes "A new study conducted by Norweigan researchers finds (again) that changes in cosmic rays most likely do not contribute to climate change. Previously, other researchers have claimed to have found a link between cosmic rays and surface temperatures."
"It is the test of a good religion whether you can joke about it." G. K. Chesterton quotes (English born Gabonese Critic, Essayist, Novelist and Poet, 1874-1936)
"Suppose the world were only one of God's jokes, would you work any the less to make it a good joke instead of a bad one?" George Bernard Shaw quotes (Irish literary Critic, Playwright and Essayist. 1925 Nobel Prize for Literature, 1856-1950)
"With Congress, every time they make a joke it's a law; and every time they make a law it's a joke."
"The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scotts as a joke, but the Scotts haven't seen the joke yet." Oliver Herford quotes (American Writer, 1863-1935)
"Men reach their sexual peak at eighteen. Women reach theirs at thirty-five. Do you get the feeling that God is playing a practical joke?" Rita Rudner quotes (American Writer and Comedian, b.1955 Miami, Florida, USA)
"When in doubt, go for the dick joke." Robin Williams quotes (American actor)
Isn't copying and pasting quotes fun?
Look where all this talking got us, baby.
Because no one is trying to tell me what light bulbs to use or car to drive based on the debate of dark matter/energy. Global Warming has become the socialists latest grab for power, but the tide is slowly turning.
"Not surprisingly, the global climate is also in a cooling trend."
Nice try jackass. But the Global temperature has been rising, i.e. getting hotter, not cooler.
We have a WARMING TREND.
Talk about stupidity...
You'll find that most people who support the manmade global warming assumption use it to justify a whole host of government intrusion into our lives from punitive taxation to telling you what kind of car you should drive (hybrid), to what kind of coffee you should drink (organic, fair trade).
Trying to divert attention away from the science by making vague and unsupported claims about about the motivations and desires of those who do is a form of the logical fallacy known as an Ad hominem argument.

If you do not believe the sun and its solar rays, are the primary engine driving any global warming or cooling, then you are a fucking moron plain and simple
The sun is life and death, it warms the earth and when parts of the earth recede from its gaze, they become barren and frigid wastelands. Conversely where the earth is on the receiving end of the suns gaze to a greater degree, you have super heated desert or hot tropical jungle.
In those places where the suns gaze is moderated somewhere between the extremes is where you find the most abundant life, human and animal.
If you fucking morons think for 1 second that the current human expression of energy and its usage even approaches the enormous forces found in just one or 2 areas of concern, volcanism and solar activity, then you are less a scientist and more a hack fool who thinks al gore has a fucking clue.
Some very smart manipulators have realized the only way to beat the system('s) specificaly western economies, is for the system to beat itself via a self imposed industrial decline (primarily targeting western civilization) of which only the fools will impose upon themselves and those that dont will be there to fill the vacuum that will exist be it economic or political.
As long as china and india get a pass on kyoto, this hypocrisy will perpetuate and the psuedo science used to justify the death of viable economies will be the enabler.
If the Global Warming crowd want to prove the legitimacy of Global Warming, first definitively prove it and second, draft a course of action which includes all nations.
Until then, fuck off
(slashdot will never make this news)
"We're at a very favorable state right now for increased glaciation," says Kutzbach. "Nature is favoring it at this time in orbital cycles, and if humans weren't in the picture it would probably be happening today."
Importantly, the new research underscores the key role of greenhouse gases in influencing Earth's climate. Whereas decreasing greenhouse gases in the past helped initiate glaciations, the early agricultural and recent industrial increases in greenhouse gases may be forestalling them, say Kutzbach and Vavrus.

This means there must be another variable in global temperatures than carbon emissions.
Wow, you're a fucking genius... nobody else has ever thought of that... What? Climate scientists are well aware that there are vast numbers of variables in global temperature. Wow.
... and then they built the supercollider.
