Financial Crisis Soundtrack

German musician Johannes Kreidler made a soundtrack of the global economic crisis composed by running financial graphs through SongSmith. It gets political in a few spots, but is bleakly funny.

Wasn't this a minor sub-plot in a Douglas Adams novel? A program that would write corporate theme tunes based on their financial results?

Yes, the software was named "Anthem". If you wander to Google Book Search, you can find the initial description of it on page 29: "if you wanted your company accounts represented as a piece of music, it could do that as well...it produced lots of cheery company anthems".

Did I see the words "German" and "funny"?

Try mocking germany to germans, then mocking america to americans.

Then tell me which country has a better sense of humour.

But that was fucking great! I loved how it all sounded like SimCity theme music. (probably because of the MIDI instrumentation) Will Songsmith really take images and make songs out of them?

Sure, I'll yell Heil Hitler next time I walk into a German Bar.

Then, I'll yell America is a sub-par country the next time I walk into a US bar.

i'll get back to you with the results.
