Apple Sells More Than 10 Million New iPhones In First 3 Days
An anonymous reader writes Apple has announced that it sold over 10 million new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models, just three days after the launch on September 19. From the article: "Chief Executive Tim Cook said the company could have sold even more iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models if supplies had been available. Analysts had estimated first-weekend sales of up to 10 million iPhones, after Apple booked record pre-orders of 4 million on Sept. 12, the day pre-orders opened."
What they sold in their first year. Amazing.
Can we get this in perspective please?
How many phones does Samsung and Google sell every time there is a new Android phone?
I purchased one, but its microwave charger was broken, so I got another but that one was broken too. Each time when the microwave charger broke, even normal charging no longer worked.
"His name was James Damore."
....something something... walled garden...something something... stroke my neckbeard.
We're what, 9 billion people on this Earth and closest part of space and you want us to belive that 1 billion Android devices are sold every day?
In other news Hyundai outsells BMW 4 to 1. To each his own.
We're what, 9 billion people on this Earth and closest part of space and you want us to belive that 1 billion Android devices are sold every day?
Actually it's more like 7 billion (I think 6.9?) people on Earth, and he's saying that 1.5 billion Android phones are sold every day. I had no idea, but that's pretty impressive.
I would say that most of the people I know use iPhones. I have never heard any one of those iPhone users judging an Android phone user as an inferior person, less successful, or not as hip. I have, however, consistently hear all the usual judgements from Android users against iPhones users: lemmings, idiots with too much money, Steve Jobs worshippers, etc.
iPhone is a product, android is an industry.
Mod me down, my New Earth Global Warmingist friends!
Beats Audio Headphones
I am an Android user, but I will say the iPhone isn't beats. It's actually a decent piece of hardware and software. I don't particularaly like iOS and will stick to my Android, but it's also not horrible and a lot of people develop for it. I'm also glad we have both options, plus Windows Mobile too. More options are better for the market and people who write apps for only one OS are idiots.
It's still half of beats though. There are a lot of people who buy eyeProducts because of the marketing. I liked OSX 10.6, but everything since than has been shit. Final Cut X is god awful. There are pros and cons to everything.
iPhone users, by and large, couldn't care less what kind of phone you use. The world needs more options and fewer snobs.
I wonder how many of those phones went to carriers and counted as 'First day sales'? How many actual _humans_ bought phones?
Since Apple reports sales to end users, approximately 0 and 10,000,000, respectively.
Dewey, what part of this looks like authorities should be involved?
iPhone is a product, android is an industry.
Which is why boasting that Android is outselling iPhones is a bit like pointing out that the entire rest of the car industry is outselling BMW and therefore BMW must suck.
Only to idiots, are orders laws.
