Religious Hacker Defaces 111 Escort Sites (softpedia.com)

An anonymous reader shares this article from Softpedia: A religiously-motivated Moroccan hacker has defaced 111 different web sites promoting escort services since last summer as part of an ongoing protest against the industry. "In January, the hacker defaced 79 escort websites," writes Softpedia. "His actions didn't go unnoticed, and on some online forums where escorts and webmasters of these websites met, his name was brought up in discussions and used to drive each other in implementing better Web security. While some webmasters did their job, some didn't. During the past days, the hacker has been busy defacing a new set of escort websites... Most of these websites bare ElSurveillance's defacement message even today... Most of the websites are from the UK."
His newest round of attacks replace the sites with a pro-Palestine message and a quote from the quran, though in January Softpedia reported the attacker was also stealing data from some of the sites about their users' accounts.

As you've already discovered, among various Islamic schools of theology there is vigorous disagreement about whether mut'ah is permitted or not. The most prominent distinction is that among Shiites it's mostly permitted and among Sunnis mostly forbidden, but there are Sunni communities there are some who practice mut'ah as well. Like with most details of Islamic law, people will have strong normative opinions. Instead of looking at the wide variety of things that Muslims are actually practicing in the world, they will claim that their opinion represents the whole of Islam and that everybody else is wrong. Since every side can draw on 1400 years' of theological debate to show that they are right and you aren't, and at the base of it there are texts that can be interpreted in different wys, but are considered sacred and must not be questioned, this kind of debate tends to degenerate very quickly.

Where Islam differs is that God has placed a ban on men to only have ONE wife.
However, as God knows the nature of men and their temptations, God has however permitted more than one wife ONLY in the condition he can bear the financial responsibility and offer safety and equal time to both wives. i.e. to curb prostitution and mistresses; and to help divorced/widowed women (especially with children) who find it difficult to find a husband, etc.

Islam is a complete fiction that does not match the archeology of the region. There is some fantastic evidence showing satellite imagery and how all the early Arab Temples were oriented towards Petra in Jordan at the time Mohammed was said to have lived - because Mecca did not exist at that time. More clues towards Jordan and the Allah (Arabic for "God") called Dushara is in Koran 53:19-20 and the fact that the Nabatean cult of Dushara worship stone cubes called "ka'aba". Later Arab Emperors ("Caliphs") would take this cult and modify it to justify Arab Imperialism, and as an ideological counterweight to the Christianity of the Eastern Romans ("Byzantines") and Zoroastrianism of the Persians.

God sent the last Prophet to free humanity from the shackles of their mind and enslavery and worshipping of false deities, and freed women at a time when they were purely for sexual enjoyment and treated as objects. And Islam gave rights to women which the west only introduced since the 1900's, including a right to vote and have their voice heard, and the right to own their own house, business, money, etc.

What's rarely discussed is how the entire Arabian peninsula changed as a result of the Prophet and his disciples, and the amount of peace that spread throughout the lands and neighbouring nations. And prior to the "Geneva convention", the Islamic Prophet introduced the fair treatment and peace towards even war prisoners. In fact, he housed one of the war prisoners in his own house in Medina...
has there ever been a king or president who has taken a prisoner in his own home?!

The Arabs at the time were following fragments of the teachings of Prophet Abraham, but most of it was lost and people deviated towards worshipping men and stones.

Our Prophet informed us that slowly, after a warner (prophet) is sent to a nation, it takes around 10 generations before people again deviate and start worshipping objects and people.

Nine might be young enough to raise some eyebrows at the time, but it was by no means a big scandal or even unheard of. He did wait three years until she was legally ready.

A more serious issue is that this has made it very difficult to de-normalise sex with or marriage to young girls in Islamic cultures. How can such a tradition be condemned when the Prophet himself practised it?

Key words there are "was" and the fact that the purges were motivated by the belief--a positive claim--that all religion is a threat that must be stopped. One may note that this belief both informed and motivated the purges. Although it is commonly coincident with an atheistic position in modern times, do note that this is a positive claim susceptible to empirical inquiry. We merely have to look at the death tolls.

No, the purge was motivated by the unwillingness to share power. You see, until 1917 Russia has been an absolutist monarchy - the last one in Europe. In an absolutist monarchy the church plays a huge role - the monarch is appointed by the god after all. Russian orthodox church had money, land and a shitload of followers, hence it had to be, as they call it nowadays, "rightsized". Stalin wasn't a Russian, but a Georgian and he spared the churches and clergy in Georgia.

So, the notion that Stalin was an atheist is wrong, as is the notion that his purges of the Russian orthodox church was anything else but a power game.

Moreover, I find your construction rather odd, because if I'm not mistaken, it seems that you can't reasonably believe that atheists exist at all?

I have no idea whence you got that. I am an atheist myself, always have been.
