Police Officers In Berlin Had To Break Up Fight Between Supporters of Two Rival YouTubers (bbc.com)
More than 100 police officers were deployed to break up a mass brawl reportedly organized by two rival YouTube stars in Berlin. The BBC reports: The fight broke out on Thursday evening on Alexanderplatz square in the German capital, police said, adding that nine people were arrested. More than 400 people had gathered after two social media influencers reportedly urged their fans to join a face-off. As tensions escalated, a large melee involving around 50 people erupted. Officers used pepper spray and tear gas after attempts to disperse the crowds with loudspeakers failed. As police intervened, clashes spilled over in a nearby subway, where rocks picked up from railway lines were reportedly thrown. The YouTubers who reportedly started this mess are named "Thatsbekir" and "Bahar Al Amood," both of which denied that they were at fault for the brawl in social media posts.

This makes it sound like thia is an unusual thing. In reality, this is just another weekend for rivaling "gangs" (of mostly dumb kids who junt wanna feel comeradery and be cool) in any big German city.
We had this 20 years ago. My buddy used to film them. (In our case it was "our school VS enemy school".)
So yeah, very lame, and pathetic individuals, but it seems that a certain subset of humans need this, to find their place in society.
Depends on your definition of European. Both of the YouTubers are middle eastern in origin (a Turk and an Arab) so it looks like that whole "bring in 1 million refugees" plan has succeeded in enriching Germany with some foreign culture.

Its tempting to think that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube are the cause of every craze-slash-crazy-persons-event happening. Who I blame is actual Mainstream Media who for many decades have deliberately - and profitably - ignored and censored what real, ordinary people have to go through in the real world. All in the name of social cohesion and economic stability. Of course new outlets like Facebook and Youtube are going to turn into "Volcanos of Crazy" - Hollywood and MSM content has become unwatchably formulaic, so people have taken to following Twitterati, Youtubers and so on instead. There was a street brawl in Germany? Oh noes! That's so much worse than Millions of people having to live with censored news for many decades. In the West, no less, not in Russia or China! Until the MSM fixes itself - or better changes hands - I'm guessing that we'll wake up to more "internet-driven crazyness" in the next years. It gives me hope that today's young seem to chose their own content online, rather than becoming Television and Radio zombies like previous generations have.

They were very likely a wild mix of German, (2nd/3rd generation) Turkish/Arab/Italian and various Slav kids with parents that were left alone with overwhelming problems and fell through the cracks.
All grown up together and equal members of our society.

And most of them became more productive and integrated members of our society *anyway*, than you will ever be.

Half of Turks are technically European. Slavs like Albanians are European. And those are the largest ethnic groups besides that act up more often than Germans from what he tells me. And the latter have also become a problem lately. In a couple of years, if our politicians don't some address and try to solve the issues nationalists have with immigrants and refugees, things will only get worse.
There also tend to be tensions between Turks and Greeks or Turks and Kurds. Of course with juveniles involved things get as irrational as they can get with sober people.
You may see that I mentioned Turks quite often here. That's because they're the largest ethnic groups of non-Germans in Germany. So naturally if you're looking at the total number of incidents by ethnicity and exclude ethnic Germans, they're most likely on top.
They are large enough to have their own subculture that does not need to integrate into German culture to be able to sustain itself. A good part of them are also fuelled by demagogy from the Turkish president, to whom they still feel a strong allegiance, despite having lived in Germany all their life, benefiting from the German social systems and so forth.
Of course this is generalizing. The individual Turk may be well integrated. They may contribute much more than any one of those dumbass neo-nazis who think they're inherited some God given rights just because they were born to German parents. But you know, the statistics from the police and the strong support for their fascist Turkish president don't lie. There are large enough subgroups that are problematic.

This is probably the best example of the word "sheeple" I've seen.
What's interesting is how well some immigrants integrate and how well some don't. In the US, I've run into a lot of 2nd generation Latinos that are so suburban middle class you'd think they were immigrants from the 19th century, not the 1970s.
It might have something to do with racial appearance, a lot of Latinos are very Caucasian in terms of racial appearance and can often be confused with Italians, Greeks or Jews. But I think some of it is cultural -- for all the anti-Mexican hysteria, Mexican culture more or less is European.
Albanians are not Slavs.
My rather simple hypothesis: The lack of exposure to and interaction with the broader American culture makes it difficult for them to break out of their own sub culture. Ethnicity in itself may play some role, but I believe the culture you grow up in and learn from is a more important factor in most cases.
If I were to move to the US I'd try to get a place that is not among many other Germans or Russian. Ideally a place where there is a large quantity of the dominant culture is present. It's the best way to learn how I can work and function in that culture.

You are right. Slavs are still mostly European though; as are Balkan people.
The general problem maybe is how "European culture" can be defined. Unlike in the US, who was multicultural from the get go and had to establish its own resident culture first, cultures in Europe have their roots going hundreds of years back into the past. There also were plenty of wars, where almost every major power seems to have gotten their turn at some point and pissing everyone else off in doing so.
Like we dont have enough division in the world :(
I grew up in Detroit, where we had Hamtramck, which had the largest Polish population of any city outside Poland. We had Greektown, we and other enclaves of German, Arab, and other groups. While they often worked or went to school together, they went home to their little clique neighborhoods.
When I moved to the DC area, I saw a much more integrated city, but to this day we have pockets of Korean, Vietnamese and a few other ethnicities.
Americans that I worked with in Germany and Korea did the same...while we would often partake in some of the national festivities, we'd normally stick together.
I think you can only assimilate just so much and then you want some of what you grew up with, which is why you see that difference with the 2nd generations.
