Several LinuxWorld Expo Notes
We're borrowing wireless PCMCIA adapaters for the show. We ordered a Kodak DC210+ digital camera that will hopefully be here in time. CopyLeft has shipped over T-Shirts for us to sell, and Jeff's hottie little girlfriend is gonna be helping sell them. It looks like we're gonna have a great time out there so definitely swing by.
Thanks to the LinuxWorld folk for helping set up up out there, thanks to Linux-HW for the plane tickets and Red Hat for paying for the bandwidth.
As promised, the stuff that we want to borrow for the Slashdot booth:
- Astroturf (10x10 piece. Anyone have a camper?)
- Reclining Lawn Chairs
- A Dart Board
- Pictures to attach to the dart board (Bill? Rob & Hemos in Wired? Sanford Wallace? Katz? whoever :)
- A Pitcher, Sugar & Kool-Aid mix (we'll get thirsty. We really want a blender and vodka and little umbrella's but its enough of a pain just to legally sell T-Shirts, I suspect a liqour license is right out of the question *grin*)
- Large breasted dancers (we're pretty flexible on this one).
Anyway, if you live in San Jose and can help with any of these items let Jeff or I know. Supposedly the mob is going to make things difficult for us out there, but we'll work it out. It's gonna be a nutty show. We're looking forward to hanging out with everyone. I'm looking forward to posting live updates from the show- and this time with pictures & a wireless network adapter. This ought to be great!

Isn't it funny how the linux support is going only to high end server machines and the alpha processor? Why aren't companies offering us the option of linux on our regular intel based machines? I think the M$ hold has to be broken and if the support is going to be given, it should be given to all.
Jeez. Get a job. ;>
P.S. Good luck at the show guys, hope it all works out and you have a wonderful time!
Rasterman's claiming you were very, very reluctant (see the Feb. 18 entry). I guess you got into things after that, huh?

Remember Ed Curry!
I'll take care of the Kool-Aid thing. What's your favorite flavor?
Now if we could only convince Kraft to make a tequilla flavored Kool-Aid, but alas...

Which specific mob? Is it the nasty business climate in that city or that dominating software empire? Will they be sending out scouts to this one too? This guy told us at the ALS there were just two of them (he said he was just a consultant, yeah, yeah.)
I'll trade you lemonade, crushed ice, a blender, and some Stoli for Jeff's girlfriend.
(Ouch, hey, Kira, I was only kidding!)
I think I can part with my Oster for a week or so, and I'm sure I've got a good supply of misc Kool-Aid and such, and a couple of pitchers. I'll stop by Tuesday, probably around lunch time or so.

There are always four sides to every story: your side, their side, the truth, and what really happened.
Well, I could hook you up with a couple plastic outdoor chairs. They don't recline but they're not too uncofortable. I suppose I could steal... errr appropriate a couple of those reclining sun chairs from the side of my apartment's pool too (no one's using 'em right now...). Let me know if you're interested.
I live only a couple blocks from the Convention Center..
let me know if you need Kool-Aid, beer or whatever...

Don't the organizers realize geeks like computers more than automobiles? I mean, why not give out alphas? Ah well, actually I feel better since I won't be able to win anything, I might as well say "oh, well he just got a harley, not an alpha." Tho for some strange reason I can easily picture Alan Cox on a harley... maybe it's the beard... or the hat... or the sunglasses... nah...
