Woman Tries to Sue South Park
*Menace* writes "So, it seems that a Canadian mother sued South Park because her young son's name is Kenny, and watching the show's Kenny die horribly week after week has given the real-life Kenny some psychological issues to deal with." Fortunately, she
lost, but its a pretty amusing article anyway.
First she didn't sue south park. She complained to a regulatory commision. As far as I can tell this is roughly the same as complaining to the FCC in the US. Second, for all of you saying, "canada is stupid because of this," think about it for a second. What would have happened if this lady lived in the US. It WOULD have been a law suit and she probally would have won. The commision she complained to essentially said, "ma'ma you are an idiot." They didn't take any negative action against the show and said that it, "is an adult cartoon," or that she shouldn't be letting her kid watch it in the first place. I think canada did a much better job dealing with this than the us would have. Yet another reason to move to canada some day.

Ok, it's time to get on my soapbox.
I don't understand why this lady chose to let her son watch the show if she believed it to be so violent. She is one of the people of this world that ignore their children and let the television babysit them, then later wonder why their kids are so messed up. If she had watched the show just once she would see the disclaimer in the beginning that the show isn't fit to be viewed by anyone.
I realize that parents aren't always home, so if they want to prevent children from watching these shows they should go out and buy a tv with the new V-Chips and block out unwanted programming.
