Three represents the trinity, so the answer to all questions is obviously three. But the evil liberal scientists are claiming that 2+2=4, and Nate Silver reports on that. So some pundits and bloggers come up with "Unskewed Arithmetic," where 2+2=3, and Fox News eagerly reports on that, to the applause of their viewers. Nate Silver is attacked personally, as being "Thin and effeminate."
But then someone gets two coconuts, and two more coconuts, and put them down and actually count them. They come up with four! So Fox News and its viewers complain that it's because all those welfare recipients always they're entitled to one more of everything.
Well, you certainly put a lot of effort into that reply. But please look at my responses to the other replies in this thread. I guess I just didn't add enough exclamation points and "Duh"s, or emphasize the "Texas high school math book" aspect enough, for most people to get the joke.
Holy fuck, does no one on Slashdot understand jokes? Look at the number 1 replacing an exclamation point in the headline and the post. Then look at the line "(Goes back to reading Texas high school math book)." Does every joke have to be spelled out?
I took a number out of the Romney/Ryan economic recovery plan, and multiplied it by itself to see what would happen. I got a negative number. Why would that be?
I took another number and multiplied it by itself, and got another negative number. In fact, every number I took from that plan and multiplied by itself, I got a negative number!
Abortion. He's gone back and forth on that since the 90s.
He's been pretty solidly advocating new laws against abortion recently, but a couple days ago he told the Des Moines Register, "There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda." Then his campaign hastily "corrected" that a couple hours later and said he "would of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life."
But hey, at least you got your +5, America Bashing mod
It's called not being hypocritical.
It would be hypocritical to sit around laughing arrogantly at Pakistan, while ignoring the fact that right here at home we can do similar things as well.
It may not be politically correct point out uncomfortable things about our own country, and you may get all offended and call it "America Bashing," but it is reality.
But, you see, that is a fact. That won't play well on Slashdot, where coming up with a conspiracy theory that attacks anyone who dares question the police will, it appears, get you so many more mod points.
And on Slashdot, Anonymous Cowards can lie, distort and misrepresent everything. Because to them, they are ABOVE IT ALL!
Slashdot Beta confuses the world.
"Freedom solves everything" crowd?
Libertarians are the "Freedom for me solves everything" crowd.
The instant you start talking about other people's freedom you are branded a "bleeding-heart."
These days, it's more like this:

EVERY kind of reporting is biased. Even just reporting a fact is, because the question is why this fact was reported and not another one.
That's right. Even reporting that 2+2=4 is biased. Because why did you not include Jesus???

I guess I should have added a lot of extra exclamation points mixed with 1s, and put "Hurr Durr" at the end or something.
Holy fuck, does no one on Slashdot understand jokes? Look at the number 1 replacing an exclamation point in the headline and the post. Then look at the line "(Goes back to reading Texas high school math book)." Does every joke have to be spelled out?
Incidentally, did you know that the word "Whoosh" has been eliminated from Texas dictionaries?
Uhh . . . wait a second!!1
How could U.S. scores rise to 4th from 14th, when four is less than 14??? They mean "lower"!
(Goes back to reading Texas high school math book)
"Prospective" is an adjective, so I'm not sure how it makes sense by itself in a headline. Prospective what?
I was thinking you meant something like, "Have some perspective," which makes a lot of sense, given the body of your post.
But can that 35-year-old spell "Perspective"?

The thing is, Romney has been on every side of every issue. So there's something to like about him for everyone!
Why did you just apologize for Mitt Romney?
Sincerely,
Mitt Romney
Maybe Tech execs like the idea of wiping out all electronic records of everything they have ever done when they switch jobs? Especially when they use other people's money to do it?
*Sob*
Leave Mitt-ney alone!!1

Obama is a liberal? Are you nuts?
Obama is the best Republican president we've had since . . . Bill Clinton.
Obama administration has been circulating a draft of an executive order
What? Obama is going to force us to do something? Hate! Hate! Hate!
participation would be voluntary
What? How is that going to be effective, then? Obama can't get anything done! Hate! Hate! Hate!
It's interesting, then, that the Republican-leaning states get more money from the federal government than the Democratic-leaning states do.
If there is a disaster, just watch as the Florida Republicans all demand federal aid.
1. Say, "I know I'll get modded down for this . . ."
2. Write a post with a conservative viewpoint.
Bang! Instant recipe for being modded up on Slashdot.
