I'm not saying the technology is worthless. I'm saying I live in a rural area (40 mins to closest large town, 20 mins or more to a motorway). I get a maximum of 2MB/s 'broadband', but my ping is reasonable (twice most others, but still reasonable). I'd prefer this to 10MB/s download speed and double the latency...
Not everyone is a gamer, but in my original comment, I simply stated that for Gaming (COD, L4D etc) latency is more important than download speed. And it is.
I have to say I had that problem, only to find my router had "Hack alert" type thing enabled (port spamming awareness or something). When uTorrent got busy, the router dropped the connection. Once I'd disabled this (took me MONTHS to discover) all was fine. I'd thought it was my ISP all along, but it was my router...
If you can access your router with decent settings I'd check this out...
Ah. As I'm in the EU, it is not possible to sign away legal rights (‘This does not affect your statutory rights’ is at the end of almost anything here). This means they can put in the agreement "You cannot do this", but if it's one of your rights they cannot take that away even if you sign that you agree to it...
I'm pretty sure they could not prevent a class action using a EULA, however if you then sue them in a class action, they can then ban you from PSN (SEN) for breaking the EULA... Therefore removing all the 'trouble makers'.
I have a Steam account. I can run it in English, German, whatever. The games it downloads can be in any available language. I do not want to get games in Real Shops as I'll lose the disc, the key or whatever, and unless they're tied to an online shop, they could be missing English on the disc anyway. Steam allows me to use a UK CC when sitting in Spain.
It just bugs the hell out of me when some website assumes in Europe France=French, Spain=Spanish, Italy=Italian. It is so much not like that. We have Polish in UK, Germans in Italy and British in Spain and many other combinations. Even if others (and myself) CAN speak the country's language, we're >always going to feel more comfortable using out native language. When playing a game (or trying to buy one) I don't want it to be a struggle... Usually the sites making these mistakes are American (which makes me feel for the Spanish speakers in America)...
If you want to be fancy, sure, pick a language based on IP address, but ffs allow me to change it!

That's ironic
I would have thought Facebook was in the same situation as Slashdot
Lacking mod points, but a great reply!
"WinMetro" kind of reminds me of Active Desktop... Cool idea, not so good in usage...
Or we came out here as we could not afford family-sized city-based accommodation...
Not in my case, but for many, rural is the cheapest way to live...
I'm 4,000 miles from a 120V socket... Just saying ;-)

I meant for MP games, not little flash games. I would not call that Gaming as such, more than Word-search is gaming...
Download speed is nice, but for gaming, latency is God...
I think you assume Greece == Europe
"Umm internet access isn't a human right."
It is in Europe
Could mod. Replying. God you are so bang on. Put you as my FB status - hope that's OK....
Shit. I honestly did not see that coming, despite all we knew... Like Michael Jackson of the software world :-(
No windows as most houses are square blocks, so no overhangs...
I live in Spain. In general (our house included) we have NO windows facing the sun...
Used for illegal purposes? BAN 3D PRINTERS. And cassette tapes. And knives!

Just a thought...
