It seems like fedora had too rapid new development i think.. within 6 month (if we want to be updated) there new release.. Its good but for newbie like me upgrade FC seems a difficult process bcoz of the hardware problem etc... but their support are great.. i've solved many problems by refering to them.. too sad this is happen and i been using fc4..

So, may be after this i will consider to openbsd but it seems more difficult to configure. My last word here .. i donno what to say :(

Killing is not the problem solver but maybe it happen when we are so angry and cannot hold it anymore longer (that why we must always try to stay cool ;D ) For reiserFS, maybe we should give him time to continue his project (if there is) :(

  4. Re:Limits on Bandwidth, not Content on Web Censorship on the University Campus? · · Score: 1

I am totally agree with you. As a university student, my college only open certain ports to access www and also have web filtering (sometime i cannot open certain page)

Web filtering and blocked ports maybe more on security policy of the college. Of course as student i dont really like this bcoz i cannot explore new things (like accessing outside webservers through cpanel)

Not to blame the management, maybe some of the students misused the facilities provide to them. If there are no blocked ports to outside, maybe they will just use it to download movies from torrent sites.

Now, some of the student who live inside the campus open their own webservers in the intranet to share their files and used whatever ports they like (intranet all ports open :D).

For me, filtering porn is great but filtering and block other port is not a good ways to solve the problem and i agree if the college do limitation on bandwidth but .... dont put the limit toooo small (exp. 8 Gig per month is nonsense) :P

  6. no. 1 doesn't mean the Best on Microsoft Sponsors Antiphishing Bakeoff · · Score: 1

I dont surprise because Microsoft are really good in this kind of strategy.
They wont tell average user that they get the high score in blocking the url, but they will absolutely tell them that "We have no.1 antiphising toolbar!".

Maybe for them, blocking the url is much more efficient to prevent their customer rather than warn them. This is because their customer (most are not computer geeks) maybe be not aware about "phishing" threats; "Phishing?? Is it a new cool words from Microsoft refer to fishing?" -- 8P

If they give a warning to their customer, may be the customer will just ignore it.

So, lastly i would prefer if the customer know all details and let them make their own choice. No. 1 doesn't the best but poor score toolbar mean horrible (especially with a big scores gap)

Basicly zero day exploits launch by underground group to exploits vulnerability in corporate computers. They knew that the administrator will update their pc. So, to attack the computers, they must attack before the computer being patch.

From my reading, this underground group will work hardly to find to vulnerabilities. And some of the vulnerability comes from previous patch. Patches sometimes create new vulnerabilities because they fix the problem appear not the concept why it is appear.

Because windows used by many average end user and it has many holes, this is the best target for the underground group

On the other hand, to launch DDoS attack or to mount new zombie, they don't have to work hard because they are thousandzzzz of pc not patch although ms release hundreds patch during that period of time. Because average end user not the 'nerds' or 'geeks' type. They don't really care if their pc runs as zombie. As long as, their works (typing and printing) can be done. Not to mention, that many user may not realize that their Windows need to be update!!!

At the same time, the are also many pc run with ungenuine version of windows, this the perfect target operating systems.
