    You need to keep in mind that teachers do not work 40+ hours/week

    No, they work much more than that. I'd say no more than 50% of a teachers' work occurs in the classroom. The rest is lesson planning (ever heard of that?), curriculum planning, workshops, PTAs, report cards, and, of course, grading the homework.

    It is not enough. For example:
    Your user schedules a meeting for 9am EST, March 26th. Your (unpatched) system duly converts it to 14:00 GMT. Later, after the patch to local box, user comes in and sees that his meeting was mysteriously rescheduled to 8am.
    What happened?
    Due to the new DST, GMT (or UTC) is 4 hours off instead 5 that it used to be.

    Without copyright you'll never see a show made without it being bought and paid for before production. Who knows what you'll get? Isn't this how most business works? You try something and then the quality of your (car, show, shoes) determines success or failure. And of course there were no books written prior to copyright being invented?

    I can teach my 3 year old not to play with matches and knives. In the meanwhile, I will make damn sure he cannot get to them. The analogy may not be perfect, but it works. Young kids are not mature enough to make certain decisions by themselves.

    You are missing something, that sellers know very well. It's called human nature .

    Once you bid on an item, you are emotionally invested. You think that you can walk away, but in reality, you will probably pay a little more than you originally planned.

    I'll give you an example. Let's say you bid $50 for something that sells for $200 in stores. You are saying to yourself, cool, I've got a bargain. Shortly before the auction ends, someone ups your price. So now you have a choice. Do I go away, and look for another item (which might or might not be available), or do I bid $55 or $60. Most likely you will bid, and rationalize it to yourself that $60 is almost as good as $50, and hell, you still getting a bargain on a $200 item. In the end you might pay $90 or $100. You are still getting a bargain, right?
